Life as I Know It; Family; Lifestyle; and Healthy Living!

Is driving me crazy! If there was a time when I needed a trip to the other side of the world, it would be now.

The constant bickering; the yelling; the possessiveness; the competition, why oh why?!

When they are friends they are the best of friends. When they fight, it’s all out war and I have to be the referee. I’m tied of it.

I’m tired of talking and now my talking as turned to yelling and threats. I’m exhausted.

If one has something, the other wants it. If one gets a privilege, the other has to get the same. This ‘one’ is the youngest and littlest one in the family and I’m at my wits end of what to do. As I sit here writing this, she’s at it again.

Her brother was in the living room watching his favorite program, she was in the bedroom. She came into the living room and began to mess with him. She wants to watch the television he’s watching. Their dad is talking to her, she resists. He uses a distraction tactic and she fell for it and so all is well again.

Are we not paying enough attention to her? I don’t know. I talked t o her pediatrician about her behavior on a recent visit to have her physical. He says that she is acting in a normal way and I have to just be patient. The more upset I get about it, the more attention her behavior is getting and the more she continues. This will pass he says. As long as she’s not hurting anyone, she’s alright.

OK, that’s reassuring. Maybe this stage will pass quickly so I can stop pulling out my hair and get my voice back again. All I know is this child is cut from a different cloth and I’m trying to stay on top by not over reacting, admittedly sometimes I do and I’m not too proud of that. There’s hope for her yet because after a flare up she usually comes to me and says she’s sorry for doing whatever she did (and she usually tells what she did wrong!) and we hug and I give her a talking to and we’re at peace again. Until two hours later when something else happens! Oy!

She’ll be five soon, and hopefully she will get pass this stage very quickly or heaven help my sanity!

Thank heavens things are a bit quieter today. No fighting, no disagreements. She'll be five in four days, perhaps things are changing?! Wheeee!

Just get a suit of Velcro and put a large section of it on the wall. She acts up, stick her to the wall....and there ya go.

If I get around to having kids...my parenting method is going to rock.
