What a show!

Have any of you seen this new reality show on the History channel? It's about a group of truckers who travel from and to Yellowknife, Canada to deliver much needed supplies and equipment to places where there are hardly any roads at all and who depend on these truckers who risk their lives to make the deliveries.

Watching this program the first time got me thinking about Mason and what he does too, I even wondered if he would do something like this? The roads traveled are made up of freezing ice that if cracked would send the drivers and their gears plunging into frigid water! They are paid pretty well for what they do too. A trucker can earn as much as a year's salary making several required trips!

It's nerve racking to see them driving on what seems like (and possibly is) nothing but ice and below you can see the water. If anything goes wrong, they most certainly will be dead! I can't even imagine how the camera crew set themselves up to film all the action taking place!

If you haven't seen it yet take a look on Sunday night at 10am on the History channel! It clashes with my viewing of Entourage since it started in June but since HBO repeats their show, I get to tune in!

I found an article on it, in fact, there seems to be many a search about it on the Internet! Link

Ive been watching it too since it started. Ive also been thinking about getting into the trucking biz myself lately....hmm.

I remember hearing about the ice roads maybe 5-10 years ago. I thought there were some in Alaska..but Im not sure. Im sure there are more places than just this one that are ice roads.

I caught some of the episodes last night (they had them on all night). It was pretty good. It was definitely in the vein of Deadliest Catch. But I did not like it as much., Why? Cause I love the sea! I think Mason would like the series a lot, and it is not a bad one.

I would like them to show more of the stuff going on at the diamond mines tho. How they got there (like who would have spent the time to discover them in the first place in that ice box????), and who came up with the idea (they mentioned it was 75 years old), and more of the history behind it.
