Five pounds....I looked at the scale again in shock...what the heck?!  I gained five pounds?!  But last week when I went on the scale, (at the beginning of the week) I had dropped another 3 pounds so that was 10 pounds total since I began on January 7.

But last week, after my workout, the next day I was limping, quite painfully.  I had somehow developed a nasty pain/cramp that hurt as I walked, impact on the ground as I walk was excruciating!

I didn't want to go to the doctor, so I did the next best thing, I asked my friends what could be wrong!  I know, but I didn't think it was that serious, (not yet anyway) and as they are into fitness like I am, at least some of them, I figured they might have had the same problem before.  One person suggested that I might have a Charley Horse....oh yeah, I've heard that term before where exactly do you get a Charley Horse?  It's a cramp in the muscle, sometimes in the thigh, or shin or back of the legs and running to your ankles.  Sometimes due to a workout sometimes not.  I was told to apply heat to the area.

It's a good thing I didn't do that, applying heat to any muscle in pain from a Charley horse will only cause it to get worse, said the bodyandfitness.com page I visited.  A massage and stretching the muscle is better.   I stretched and massaged and it felt better.  However, what I have is not a Charley Horse, my problem was centered around my ankle area.  I looked that up and sure enough, I had Achilles heel tendinitis, because somehow I hurt my heel/ankle area.  I know exactly when it happened too!  I bought a new pair of flats for driving, (sweet deal, on sale for $5.99) I think it was too uncomfortable at my heel as I drove the other day, and then the next day I worked out after wearing it, whammo - that's when I hurt my heel!

Another thing I noted on the description of someone having Achilles Heel Tendinitis, they kept referring to middle-age and lack of activity and lack of flexibility!  Hey, I don't consider myself middle-aged, although my age is creeping up there, and I've been fairly active, maybe not aggressively so since I started working out, and I'm pretty darn flexible too!  They don't know what they are talking about!  Ok, so maybe they do, but I don't resemble those remarks!

I guess I just pulled my heel muscle because I feel better today and hardly limping.  But last week I didn't work out for four days so as to give my foot a rest!  Then on the weekend I had bread, you know those wonderful thick Italian bread...uh uh....hence the five pounds!  All I have to do is look at some food and whammo!lol!

But I'm still not giving up.  My six year old and I started walking again.  Since I began, I've been working out at home, only been to the gym once so far and have not really done anything else.  Walking is going to be back in my program again because it's a great way to burn more fat and I love to walk!  Boy did I have a surprise coming!  There was just no way I could be this tired and bad!  I used to complete this walk in 30 mins for God's sake, what the heck happen?   Well, I'll continue to walk and know that I will improve over time, but man what a shock!  I've also stepped up my workout program because if I want better results I've got to get back to that 'power' level I'm used to!

Eating less, exercising more, stepping up my workout program and not bingeing, will lead to a successful weight loss!  That's the plan and I'm sticking to it!   Keep up the good work out there folks, we can do this, YES WE CAN!
