My seven year old has Strep throat. She was diagnosed at the doctor's today.  Her fever is very high, I hate that part because it is difficult to keep this under full control. One minute after taking the Tylenol, it wanes, next she's very hot all over again.

She'll be home for two days, and so will I.  I hate when they get sick.

Poor girl. My son had it this winter. Their poor throats hurt and you just want them to feel better. You take care of yourself so you don't get it.

I know.  We tasted each other's Skinny Cow's ice cream bar yeaterday.  I had the mint she had vanilla.  Then lat around 5am when she crawed into my bed this morning, she was boiling hot!  She's on antibiotics now and sleeping a lot.

Back in the parenting days, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, we had a months long bout with Strep.  Just as one got better, another one bit the dust.  It came back around so that the boys were getting their second dose of it.  We had to bleach all the bedding, clean and disinfect everything and finally got rid of it.  I wish you well and hope it goes away soon.  I hate Strep.

Thx BFD. I went to the  big W this morning and bought Lysol and all the stuff I need to disinfect everything! I also bought everyone new toothbrushes, mouthwash, the works. Now I'm fooling around on the LT a bit til I get up and go clean!  She's doing better and will be going to school tomorrow. Three days of taking four pills a day did the trick in getting her to feeling better, thank heavens!

I hope your little one is feeling much better. I hate to see children sick I can't imagine how their parents feel.

Thx Chris! She was feeling better, went to school and this afternoon when I called to check in on her at her after school she was sleeping.  Odd, I thought. Now she's home with a slightly elevated temperature again. I'm watching her now to see if it gets any worse. I can't imagine her getting sick all over again?! It is hard to see them ill.
