Life as I Know It; Family; Lifestyle; and Healthy Living!

A favorite saying of mine is “You’re as old as you feel”. I don’t know if anyone famous (or not) actually said it, but it’s what I tell my friends all the time. Have you ever wondered what some people do why they look so good considering how old they are? I’m not talking about plastic surgery or other cosmetic enhancements, rather people who look 20 – 30 years younger than they actually are.

My mom and dad had very good genes. When I was in high school and one or the other of them would come to school for teacher’s meeting, my friends were amazed because they were so young looking. Meanwhile there parents were always a lot older than mine and looked it!

When I was a lot younger, say 13, I was told that I looked like a 16 year old. And I know now that was because of how quickly my body developed. A lot faster than my other friends! As I get older and I age gracefully (I hope) I do get the complement time and again that I don’t look older than a certain age or even old enough to have three children including a teenager! Once a couple of months ago I got carded, har har! That made my day. Of course the guy could have just been flirting with me! It doesn’t matter really, the point is, it made me feel good and I floated for the entire day!

When you take care of yourself, you are enhancing and extending your life cycle. We all know by now how we live and eat affects us considerably. Even if you’re someone with a chronic health problem, living well and taking care of you is good for you.
I recently came across this website, realage.com. I took the real age test to see if my body is as old as my actual age and my results were that I was 42.1 years. Not bad considering that I’m 40 years old. When I took the nutrition quiz my body was 38.9 years. I'm not doing too badly with my eating habits and exercises. (even though I've slipped into a bit of a funk where exercise is concerned lately - but I'm all gung ho again!)

I know where I have to make improvements and what I need to do to have a better “body age”. The results from the quiz and subsequent mini quizzes I took gave me some valuable information. It made suggestions that I will definitely start working on because without realizing it, I was letting my health slip sometimes.

You should check this site out and take the quiz. And no lying! Or else you will be cheating yourself, ok? OK! Have fun!
