Hairy armpits
Published on August 29, 2006 By foreverserenity In Misc

Armpits that are clean shavened just look better to me and I definitely think it does a lot for hygiene too!

Who wants to see someone in a great looking outfit that’s sleeveless and upon raising her arms, there’s the armpit hair in all its glory! Ugh! I’m sorry, but that’s just unattractive!

And there are those who like to use too much deodorant that leaves a white streak or goop curled into the underarm hair! Double Ugh! It’s not attractive!

Maybe it’s just me who doesn’t like seeing this. Maybe I’m just weird. If you’re one of those women with hairy armpits, better you than me! But since I’ve been seeing so much of it lately, it got me writing!

that image of white goopy stuff stuck in the hair is quite vivid!

Let me guess.  You are not european?

But from a strictly male perspective, I like a woman with no pit hair as well.

About armpit hair. You are weird? NO! Sensitive? Yes!
There are worse things; such as rings all over a face; that is ugly.

I think that goes for a lot of guys. Although there might be a few who do!

Thanks for not thinking I"m weird!LOL! Sensitive, highly so!

Rings all over I don't particularly like too, but one of two can look ok on the person who's into that.

I used to shave my underarms,  when I still had hair there!    the rhuematoid arthritis made it go away,  neat huh?  whatta tradeoff!

I've been using that new anti-perspirant, Dove Ultimate Clear, Cool Esstentials~ great scent, very delicate and it's advertised as "stays on skin not on clothes"  and it isn't one of those goopy ones either!

try it ya'll like it!

I think we've been "taught" by the media and much more that underarm hair is unacceptable...I know it's clearly been pounded into MY head!  I prefer if women shave too!  especially if they're on the red carpet,  on a tennis court,  or otherwise in the public eye.

I'm always shocked when I see a woman with underarm hair.

I guess more power to them for being so secure, I guess, but I don't find it attractive.

I didn't know that would cause that?!

I've swithched to Dove too and just change the different types because after a while my deodorant doesn't work. I like their brand best too.

It's more than just the media though wouldn't you say? I guess some would say this would be another body image issue, however I think it's definately in the hygiene box, IMO. Plus it just looks better, minus all the deodorant goop that forms there!

I agree! Chalk it up to personal taste I guess.

It grosses me out when see a woman with under arm hair.

I don't see them often but it seems like when I do...she is in a sleeveless shirt reaching over something I want to eat...EW!

See,  that's what I mean,  why do we find it so offensive in a woman and not in a man?  we're both born with hair,  grow up with hair,  why or where does it say anywhere that it's gross for us and not them??  Just a burning question for me!

Is it some kind of purity thing?  or what?

I'd be just as disgusted if a man dragged his armpit hair over something I wanted to eat.

Most definately! And actually Trudy, they're just as bad as women. Infact, they are worse than women when it comes to bad underarm smell, but they don't have to shave their armpits.

It would actually look weird to see a guy with shaven armpits! Ugh! Now I've known a few who do trim their underarm hair a bit because it's too long, like nose hair. Ugh, ugh, now we're going into unchartered territories!!

Hey, it's not uncharted. I shaved my pits once (same time I shaved my chest, arms, and legs . . . but that's a story for another day ) and the growing back was the worst ever. Imagine having sandpaper rubbing around in your pits all day . . . ouch. But I do keep it trimmed, for my own sake as well as others; I think it's disgusting to have a thatch hanging out under my arm.

And women? *leans over the arm of the chair and retches uncontrollably*
