I didn't think I would be so affected by the passing of Chris, Udigitthemost. I joined our friends (and his family) in praying for his recovery from his recent illness.  As someone who believes in her faith, I was very sad to hear that he had passed on, in almost a selfish, childish query of "Why Lord?" I wondered didn't you hear our prayers?  But I know he did, sometimes we just have to let go of the things we have no control of, this is one of those moments.

I'm watching Mel Brooks' movie "High Anxiety".  I watched this movie many years ago and it is still very, very funny!

Harvey Korman, Cloris Leachman, Dick Van Patten, Madeline Kahn are some of the stars with very funny characters in this movie!  If you have ever seen it, remember it is the one about the new Administrator (Brooks' character) Dr. Richard Thorndyke taking over the Institute of the Very, Very Nervous!

The hilarity and confuse mess that develops, ...

This picture was on my Gateway Start Page.   My page is set up with things I like, one of them is a "Places to see" link and there is always a beautiful picture of some exotic location! It looked very Grecian to me, and the flowers and vases are very beautiful and it is all so aesthetically pleasing! The view of the ocean is fantastic!I clicked on the picture and it took me to this marvelous review of somewhere in the Greek Isle! http://www.etravelreviews.com/santorin...

This bad economy has a face, several faces in fact.  Especially the faces of children, those little ones, and the older ones too, who used to live in their comfortable homes, with all their toys, and computers, and each in their own rooms, with mommy and/or daddy working, providing for them.  Now they are in homeless shelters, because mommy and daddy have lost their jobs.  There are many childre who are out there worried that they will be next, their parents will be...

I received this message in an email today.  I wanted to share it with those of you who would also appreciate the words!

Be Blessed

FOCUS ON YOUR SOUL  Bishop T.D. Jakes  If you truly want to break through your addiction to mediocrity, your recovery must be spiritual.  It doesn't necessarily involve going to church.  That is good, but without a personal relationship with God, churchgoing is empty. Focus on what your soul hungers and thirsts ...

There are some people in the Entertainment world I admire, Natasha Richardson, was one of them.  I've always admired her aunt Vanessa Redgrave and her mom Lynn Redgrave.   I loved the fact that Natasha was married to Liam Neeson, and have been for a long time, about 14 or 15 years, more than Hollywood standard!  Whenever I saw them on television together, at an award, or an opening of a show, or in random photographs, they seem to be so in love and in tune with each othe...

A response I made on KFC's Holiday Foods blog, http://kfc.joeuser.com/article/343369/Holiday_Foods, triggered one of my earlier and happy memories of my mom.

In my response on her blog I mentioned a meal that we Jamaicans loved to eat, which I do believe is more reminiscent of our mixture of cultures on our Island, was and still is Bully Beef and Cabbage with a variety of other foods.  For example as a Breakfast meal it could be with fried dumplings or Johnny cakes, which dumpl...

We were headed back from a family outing last evening when my son pointed out something strange in the sky.  Because of the crazy drivers around me I didn't noticed until he asked me what that peculiar markings and bright fire-like trails were in the sky.  We looked up at the sky and sure enough, there goes the Shuttle Challenger!

I reminded them that the Shuttle was supposed to lift off today but I had forgotten about it, and I hadn't realised that it would be so late in the ...

My seven year old has Strep throat. She was diagnosed at the doctor's today.  Her fever is very high, I hate that part because it is difficult to keep this under full control. One minute after taking the Tylenol, it wanes, next she's very hot all over again.

She'll be home for two days, and so will I.  I hate when they get sick.

You know, I'm really sick of this thing!  Firstly, why are we still doing it?  Yea, yea, saving energy, blah, blah...but I'm all for saving energy!   Though I can't stand it when the mornings are so dark for the kids going out to school and having to get your body-clock reset and adjust itself!

The first Monday at work after a time change is usually one of those days that drags on, or speeds up, depending on how your day is going!

I do ...

I didn't read the comic books, but was aware of who the Watchmen were. I wanted to see the movie, because being a kid at heart, I'm all for grown ups running around being superheroes!

I had forgotten how graphic the characters were. Yep, my 7 year old was with me. But the good thing is, my mommy tricks came in handy for those scenes deemed too mature for her.  All in all, I managed to see the entire movie without missing a beat!

The movie was long, 2 hours and abou...

I saw this move on HBO Saturday night. It was pretty moving to me, emotionally moving. It was about a soldier who died in Iraq and his coming home, it was based on a true story.

I had no idea that the men who died in Iraq or other wars, were escorted home by other soldiers. In this story, Kevin Bacon's character, (a real person) Lt. Colonel Mike Strobl, is a Marine Officer who volunteered to take home a soldier who died in Iraq back to his home town in Colorado. I was very moved how meti...

R. Allen Stanford is a financier on the run.  He ripped off his clients money!  Another one!  How many are out there I wonder?  It is amazing how he and Bernard Madoff got away with their scams for so long!  While Madoff is still living his life, seemingly free from worry and jail, Stanford is now on the run from the law!

Many people invested their life savings with these two men, all for nothing!  I can't imagine how they feel.  Is it a good thing that the...
