I'm in one of those moods where I just don't want to see or talk to anyone. Where I just want to go bed, wrap with the covers from head to toe and sleep, until I get tired of sleeping. Unfortunately, I don't have that luxury. My kids won't let me, neither will my better half. When I'm like this I try to stay away from everyone but unfortunately, people always come and seek me out and they don't take a hint and notice that I'm just not in the mood for silly chit-chat or anything else. Like...
I'm here nursing my toothache. My emergency call to the dentist went unanswered -but that's another story. Maybe my toothache has gone to my head or maybe it's waiting on this hurricane to pass, but I've been thinking, you know what? I need a makeover. Hey, there's so many reality shows out there, making over people's lives, for the better, why not mine. Why shouldn't I get a second chance at doing things over? Except my makeover would have to be a radical one, not just physical but in...
Today would have been my mom's 64th birthday. I had planned a day of doing the things she enjoyed. First, taking the day off just to spend time with her. Preparing a lovely breakfast for her to enjoy. Going to the hair salon to have her pampered a bit. Then off to the mall we would have gone, cause she loved to window shop and letting her choose her birthday present would have been an extra special treat! Having lunch, something hot, the way she likes it. Then spend some more ...
1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls. 2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. Like fine single-malt scotch, it's rare. In fact, it's even rarer than single-malt scotch. You can't find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to...
I couldn't believe this one when I saw it, that congress is buying a Yacht for the President. I don't know the reasons why, can someone tell me, if they know? They've also cut the EPA's (Environmental Protection Agency) budget, I guess to buy the yacht. In the Superfund Program, companies who cause polution usually pays a fee to clean up their own mess, this hasn't been reinstated. I guess now our taxpaying money will be used for the clean ups.
I was watching a news program the other day, I forgot which news magazine program, (or at least I think it was on tv) and they featured the odd names people call themselves for email purposes. That got me thinking to the moment that I chose my Email name, Foreverserenity. I remembered I was going through a lot at the time, and I wanted some peace of mind, and thought of the word Serenity because of an email I received at the time. It's a nice word and I love the feeling saying it gave m...
I thought I was over with office politics. Yesterday I read Raven's blog about what's going on in her office, and I thought to myself, thank God I don't have to deal with that anymore. Boy, what was I thinking? I totally forgot, that's one thing that never goes away no matter where you work, right? It doesn't matter what kind of office politics, something is always going on. Well, it's Christmas time (or the days leading up to the big day) as we all know. I work with some really grea...
Well fellow JUsers, I'm off for a week. I won't be able to blog....waaaa. Well, I'm not even packed yet, gonna start tonight. I'll be too busy playing catch up to do all the little things that I have to do before leaving. Well, maybe I'll have something interesting to tell when I get back. Off to more sunshine, and beach....although I won't go to the beach this time. Read you all in a week, after Thanksgiving....enjoy Turkey day!
Something is bothering me enough for me to ask everyone or anyone if they see this too? What's going on with these groups, mostly "religious" ones that are crying "wolf" on the entertainment, television world? Some things are just not fit to be on TV I'll admit, but to actually want to stop freedom of speech and freedom of expression, isn't that our right as citizen of the United States? There's a group that are now making waves for a new program that started recently, Desperate Housewives...
When I wrote my last blog it was about my missing JU for a day. I boldly, I thought, used the words “Internet Addiction”. After posting my article, reading and responding to various comments, which were quite interesting by the way; I perused the Website to see what was the flavor of the day, as I like to call it. Apparently, there were other blogs about the very same thing – internet addiction! Truthfully, I was surprised. I guess we’ve all been around each other too long…we’re beginnin...
Addiction IS too strong a word to use, but I'm convinced that I must have an addiction for this blogsite, JoeUser.com. I didn’t make an appearance yesterday, and it felt like I had an itch that wouldn’t go away unless I scratched it - if you know what I mean. I felt as if I was missing out. I've gotten so used to stopping by, dropping in on my internet friends. Reading what’s going on in their world and having the honor of making a comment here and there. Laughing at the sense of h...
I and many others of my generation have lost their Mom's already, but if you haven't...this email I received may be worthwhile. After 21 years of marriage, My wife wanted me to take another woman out to dinner and a movie. She said I love you but I know this other woman loves you and would love to spend some time with you. The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my MOTHER, who has been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my three children had made it ...
(Note: I tried posting this before, so it may appear twice) I recently found a couple of websites where people, who work in the food industry, namely, waiters, waitresses, busboys, etc., vent their frustrations. Pretty much what most of us do here at JU. They go to these websites to vent their rage at customers who gave them a hard time or stiffed them on their tips. We’re talking therapy thank God. The rule of thumb when eating out is to be weary of the Waiter/Waitress you argue or ...

I like Paul McCartney, I really do. But the Super Bowl half time show was not at all exciting to me last night. Where was the big splash? The entourage of celebrities and their dancers? The fantastic dance moves? There’s no, “did you see the half-time show last night?” with the hint of having seen something really fantastic worth talking about the morning after. Darn FCC, I don’t have to see nipples, or malfunctioned costume. I just wanted to be entertained. OK, so the fire wo...
