Which word do you prefer to use?  No, I didn't ask you whether you like people of that persuasion or not, or what your religion feels, which word do you prefer to use when you talk about homosexuals? I'm watching a movie "Doing time on Maple Drive" the dad told his son who he recently found out is a homosexual that he prefers the word "homosexual", instead of "gay" because "gay is a perfectly good word that has been destroyed"! Interesting way of putting it!  I rem...

....I guess I am. Perhaps I talk too much.  I do sometimes.  I like having strong heated discussions that leads somewhere.  To learn something about someone else's point of view.  I have too much to say, I wonder if that's why I have a blog site?  Hmmm.... Everyone has a right to an opinion, never let it be said that Donna likes to push people around because they don't think the way she does.  Or that you can't talk to her about that, because you will seem as ...

I'm watching the Discovery Health Body Challenge and one of the ladies who is participating in the program, made a comment that made me say, "Oh stop it!".  She said that one of her dreams is to surf, even though black people don't surf, this black girl wants to surf!  First off, more power to her, No. 1, she's getting herself healthy by doing the body challenge!  Secondly, she wants to do an activity as a goal, not just go buy something!  She does do what I've heard m...

That's all folks!  Another holiday came and went.....just like that!  Did you have that feeling of "...is that it?" ...."...now that the big day has come...and gone....what now?" Now it is back to the work day and school days grind!  My kids were rather reluctant to return to school, they just don't see the point of it after all the familial activities!   Mind you, I think it is more like them loving the non-restrictive parental control of their time! At work...

As we come upon a new year, the Year 2009 I wondered at the years to come. My thoughts drifted to the Year 3000. Will we live to see it. I would be 135 years old, would I live that long? Would any of us? What would the world be like then? My hubby suggested that there might just be flying cars and my son agreed! Then again, I'm sure I read somewhere last year that there is an actual flying car in development!   We all laughed & tried to visualize the possibilities. Sure there ...

I'm two days early, or is that three?!  Who's counting....my kids are!lol! But no, I've not been writing much lately. It's been really busy and I wanted to let you know that I'm still around, just busy and distracted with the season and other stuff.  Despite the economical stresses, and al lthat is going on in the world today, I'm happy to see that there are still some people who are happy to be around today!  I'm also glad that so many people will celebrate the holidays eve...

Am I too fat?   Am I too thin?   Do I look pretty?   How is my hair?    We are always questionable as to our looks, the way we look to others and ourselves.   We want to look the way how beauty is defined to us on television, at the movies and especially in magazines!   Unfortunately, while their definition of beauty might be good for those who enjoy it, or those who actually look that way, it doesn’t do any good for those of us who cannot li...

An interesting article I found while all the election hubbub was going on!  An article written by Sarah Jio of Glamour Magazine !  She has some good tips, that anyone could use!  Her article is entitled "How to avoid post-election depression if your cadidate doesn't win".     http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/health/how-to-avoid-post-election-depression-when-your-candidate-doesn-t-win-301749/   Her last paragraph reads: Choose to be at pe...

One moment I'm in, logged into JU, then I try to comment, I'm out? I go to the Forums, I'm logged in, I search for the article I'm interested in commenting on, I get there and it is fine. I go back to the JU main page, I'm fine.  I click on an article to read and comment, I'm logged out? My blog page is OK too.  But anywhere else, not so?

"It will be a stirring sight to watch President Obama, his wife Michelle and their beautiful girls step through the doors of the White House," George Bush said [article linked above] Good on you President Bush, like John McCain, you are both very gracious in calling for the unity of our country!

I'm laughing at myself now, but I was fuming a bit an hour ago! I still love the library, but they can be a lot of pain when it comes to charging fees!   Remember those dvds and books I mentioned in my other article....? Yeah, I received a phone call, right after I wrote the other one (though my views still remains!) my daughter had a missing disk in one of her returns.  I usually check the cases, but being in a hurry, I forgot to do that this time!   I still had time ...

After picking up my son from school, I told him I was going to stop at the library because his sister has books that are due today, and we both have DVDs to return as well.  We ran inside of the library after finding parking, which took a few minutes longer than usual, apparently because of voter registration, and it being the last day in our state for voting registration, so many people were trying to get registered before 10pm tonight. Anyway, my son said, "Who borrows books anymore...
