This is not just about the naysayers who continually bashes the leadership of this country.  It is for those of who don't think we will survive what is going on in our country right now.  It's toxic, it pulls us all down, it weighs heavily that so many have so little hope for us to get beyond the conditions our country is in now. Yes, I did use that tired old word "hope".  The word that so many spit out as if it was bile in their mouths.  It is a good word, without that...

I'm 29!  Yes, much better than 59, which I was some months ago (Wii age that is)!  Quite an improvement since my very first time using Wii Sports at that time, then I was 85, horrible, and I didn't live it down easily, I thought of resorting to threatening my kids who were laughing at me then!lol! I have not been on the Wii for a while. Nor have I have used my Wii fit since I purchased it last summer.  And it had the nerve to remind me of that too, "You have not us...

By now you have all heard what might have happened to Rihanna, I say "might have", because it is still not confirmed that it is her, but everyone has already put two and two together, she has canceled her appearances and went home to Barbados, plus friends of the two have come forward to say there were problems previously and even talked of Chris Brown having a 'dark side'. I heard (listening to gossip now) that it all started because she found out he was cheating on her, in confronti...

Earlier today I'm out and about with my kids and I see the hubbub of activities around.  There are a lot of people out shopping, lots of Valentine's Day activities and stuff in the stores.  people passing me with big balloons in their vehicles, some cars dressed up in ribbons and have hearts are sprayed on words..even I'm dressed in red (a red shirt), how do we get suckered into these types of things? There was a time when our holidays used to be sacred, when I say sacred I mea...

If you are a member of a online social network, for example, Facebook , be careful when you think you are venting only to your friends, often, when you hit the Submit key, what you just wrote will be read by the entire world! This was the unfortunate demise experienced by a college professor, Reiko Ohnuma !  To prepare for her class the professor looked something up on Wikipedia , which she wasn't very proud of doing.  Then follows a tirade of venting to her friends on Facebo...

They were both supposed to be at the Grammy Awards tonight.  They were both supposed to perform, separately.  E! Television was doing their Red Carpet walk through and one of the reporters said that Chris Brown was arrested for allegedly Battery on the woman he was with last night.  The police was called, he was charged. Chris Brown and Rihanna are in a relationship. They were at Clive Davis' party last night, they left together.  The woman in the car with Chris, called...

I'll admit I was clueless as to what Twitter was.  I heard the word thrown about, even during the recent election. I've heard it mentioned by talk show hosts, people there, even here.  I saw this link in my mailbox account and took a look at it.  My review of the link had me laughing.  I don't know, I laughed because I am amazed at this and now realise why so many are fascinated with this new 'thing' .  My understanding of Twitter is that you basically ask one qu...

I recently had a tetanus shot given to me during my recent check up because my doctor realised that it's been more than 10 years since my last shot. So just in case of any accidents etc., having a boost was good for me! I can have a booster shot in my doctor's office, in comfort, even though I probably didn't need it. There are little children, and women globally who are dying because they can't afford to get one of those shots! Nightline featured Salma Hayek , who has...

I heard the news about Michael Phelps being caught with a bong, saw the picture, didn't think about it too much but knew that for him, his life as he knows it will be over, for some time any way. He has gotten caught in that spiral that will spin out of control just like it has for other star athletes who have gotten caught having too much fun., or in other words, getting high.  While I'm not a fan of getting high, I can understand why people do it.  Heck, I've drank a few a...

Ravi Somoiya wrote an article which I read on the NYTimes.com  " It's the Economy, Girlfriend " about women dating men who work on Wall Streets, in various Banks and/or who were some type of Power Broker.  Now these women are face with coping with their boyfriends or spouses who have had to give up some of their special, and expensive past times.  Not to mention that the women themselves are no longer able to go shopping at will or have the 'help' they need just because...

I couldn't resist that line!  However, the movie we saw, Paul Blart: Mall Cop with Kevin James, was worth it!   I wanted to go to the movies, really to see Underworld or Taken or one of those other interesting ones, but with kids in tow, they dislike scary movies, plus those I wanted to see were not appropriate for a seven year old! We came to a unified decision, Paul Blart it was!  I like Kevin James, he's a funny comedian in my book and I've always enjoyed the King of...

This one takes the cake, or make that the burger! Recently on Facebook, several people lost their friendship because of a burger!     Recently, Burger King ran a “Whopper Sacrifice” campaign.   What is that you might wonder?   The ever inventive and creative people at Burger King (and their advertising agency) offered a free burger to anyone on Facebook who would delete 10 of their friends on Facebook!   A free burger ended 234,0...

I opened my electric bill for next month, on line, since I get them that way, and what I saw shocked me!  My electric bill is $100 more than usual!  At first I thought that OK, we just had Christmas, the decorations were up, etc., I had more activities in my home than usual, but a hundred bucks more?! Well my daughter called me and said her electric bill went up by $80 and when I checked around at work, my co-workers all had the same kind of increase, between $80 and $150! T...

I can't believe that people have nothing better to do than go crazy over what Jessica Simpson looks like now.  Gone is that really thin size 0 (I'm guessing) body that she was to wear those Daisy Dukes. The poll that Showbiz Tonight did 82 percent said it wasn't OK for people to criticize Jessica, especially in the manner they did, really bad some people! 18% said yes, they have the right to criticize her!  Public figure aside, that kind of attention is definitely very bad for an...
