I opened my electric bill for next month, on line, since I get them that way, and what I saw shocked me!  My electric bill is $100 more than usual!  At first I thought that OK, we just had Christmas, the decorations were up, etc., I had more activities in my home than usual, but a hundred bucks more?! Well my daughter called me and said her electric bill went up by $80 and when I checked around at work, my co-workers all had the same kind of increase, between $80 and $150! T...

There are so many people who don't agree with this.  Why should the Government continue to give bailouts?  We know the pros and cons of all this.  Those reasons I won't go into because they've all been discussed already.  The people did receive help last year, with money that was supposed to be used to spread into our local areas so that it would boost our economy.  That didn't work.  Most people did the best thing, took care of bills.  Some did spend. So...

This must be a joke?!  I'm sitting watching Good Morning America and the news came in that Larry Flint and that owner of the Girls Gone Wild videos are asking Congress for a $5 Million bailout? They say that Americans are so worried they have stopped enjoying themselves!  Wow!  Now I've heard it all!

I could go talk to my financial advisor, if I had one...I could find one at my bank or something!  I could even go on line and Google and read information out there, and I've done some reading already!  However, nothing beats the knowledge of my fellow Joes! So who has them, had them, plans on getting them, [no, I'm not being nosy!] is it worth it, are they good investments in these times?  And don't tell me we are not going through a rough patch because we are!  ...

I've heard the talks, the stories, seen the programs, read the headlines, America is in trouble financially (or maybe it's better to say economically)!

Whatever the phrase you like to use, even the BBC have us covered and it's not a comfortable feeling!  I see what's going on around me in my local area. Lots of houses for sale, whether by choice or not.  Some sitting for months without a buyer.   People being laid off. Budgets being slashed, the prices are up in the super market.  My grocery bill is higher than it's ever been so I have to be even more frugal. I try to use coupons sometimes, but that works some of the times, because these manufacturers don't really give coupons on rice or meats or milk or the foods that are really important!  Why is that I wonder?!

As a follow up to a blog I posted, Link , I checked the referral to that article and found some more advice that I would be remiss in not posting. An analysis was done by Scambusters.org who said: " We've gotten a lot of questions from subscribers asking if a popular email that is making the rounds with credit card fraud prevention advice is true. We'll walk you through the email step-by-step, so you can distinguish the good from the bad advice. We're doing this because although ...

I received this in an email and thought it would be good advice to share! ____________________________ A corporate attorney sent the following out to the employees in his company. 1. The next time you order checks have only your initials (instead of first name) and last name put on them. If someone takes your checkbook, they will not know if you sign your checks with just your initials or your first name, but your bank will know how you sign your checks. 2. Do not sign the back...
