Life as I Know It; Family; Lifestyle; and Healthy Living!

When I worte this piece I had just watch a program on television. Now I don't remember which program so I can't repeat the name or tell what it was about. But I guess from my writing you'll get the idea of what it was about. Hope you like it!

______________________________-

What would it be like....

Our world without color?

How could we tell the difference

Of anything?

Wouldn’t we all just blend in

A little too much?

Would our lives be any fun?

If the Seasons we couldn’t tell apart

If we couldn’t see the colors of the rainbow

If we couldn’t wear that beautiful red dress

And those killer pair of heels

You get my drift?

What about you and me

Would you be happier if my kind didn’t exist?

If this world were just made up of people like you?

But what exactly is my kind?

Except for the difference in the color of our skins

Are we not all human beings?

Do we not bleed the same color?

Do we not have moments that make us very happy and others that make us sad?

Do we not sometimes face life struggles, trying to meet them head on?

Just because my skin is of a deeper hue

Doesn’t mean you’re better than me or me than you

So, you don’t like some people who are different

Other people don’t like you because you are…you

Think about the ‘face’ you present

It doesn’t matter you may say, you’re too old to change

and you’ve always been that way

So what? you may say

Does it really matter?

If I’m a sister and you’re another….aren’t we all brothers and sisters

Of God? Of the Universe?

Take a page out of someone else’s book before you leap

To conclusions

Just because others may think differently,

do not share the same enlightenment

Before you take a step back into time

Of what once was

We were all put on this earth for a purpose

Do we move forward

Or take two steps backwards?

How can we move forward if you keep regurgitating the same sound bite?

If your attitude is worse than those you fear or hate or tolerate, or so you say

Why not make a difference, be different

Say what you mean and mean what you say

Allow the idiosyncrasies of the few

How else can you learn who you are?

If our world is without color

If the grass was not green

Or the sky not blue

How else can you be you, or me be me?

I like this forever,  I gave ya a cookie,  now I want to get that glass of milk!

Wish I had some real cookies around here though!  oatmeal with walnuts!

I also agree with your poem,  I wouldn't want to live in a world of clones! all of us the same and grey like these words!  nope! no way.

Pale.

Blanched

No form

Death.

Shorter and less eloquent.  But the same.  Thank you for your eloquence.
