I honestly do. There is so much injustice in this world of ours. There are so many people out there who could use his help.

On my way to the movies with my kids I saw such a bad accident, it was horrific. There was an oversized SUV with a motorcycle stuck under it. You couldn’t see who was on the bike because there was no body or bodies thrown clear. All you could see was a pool of red under the vehicle. I couldn’t even see who was in the vehicle itself. All I saw were cars stopping and people rushing towards them to help. All I could do was dial 911 while I carefully maneuvered my car safely away from the onlookers and the horrific scene. It made me feel really bad and I prayed for the people who were hurt or dead.

I reassured my kids because they don’t see things like that often. It was just too much to see.

And while that scene was left behind, in front of me there were still drivers out there on the road who were in too much hurry to slow down to give their fellow drivers a chance to make their maneuvers without incidents. Someone is always too slow for them, why should they wait? Even when they have kids in their vehicles. It seemed to me that those with their newer and faster and sometimes bigger vehicles are just too much of a menace on our roads. Going the speed limit or 5 miles above the speed limit isn’t enough for them. They have to go 10, 20 or even 30 miles more than is necessary on a regular road.

What is all that in aide of? Why do they have to go like speed demons? I don’t know. All I know is, I have to keep my eyes and ears opened and alert to what’s going on all around me so that I can go where I am going safely.

Can you imagine had superman been real, he would have been able to save the World Trade Center! I know its childish thinking this way, but I guess I’ll never outgrow that inner child of mine and I’ll never stop loving the man of steel, or the idea of him.

Somehow in our real world we do like the idea of him and that’s why he’ll always be around!

I loved your whole article forever and especially this part:

That is so how I feel too,  wish it could happen,  Superman preventing tragedies.

I think it's ok if we keep a small piece of childish innocence inside of us,  for I think that's one important part of us.  It helps to keep alive the magic of Christmas,  the joy of playing....it's ok.

Also I think that part of us is what makes us want to help others, do good in the world,  and be a contributing ( positive) person to all.

How sad for you and your children to have witnessed the scene,  I imagine they're going to have questions for you too.

Ya,  there's always the rude, impatient, and foolish drivers out there,  always in a hurry to get nowhere....hurry up to stop a red light,  hurry up to only have to slow down when there's an accident...

maybe life might teach them some day to slow down.....maybe.

But the problem is, you can never know if he will be Superman, or General Zod.

Good article, kinda reflects the discussion within the film regarding "Why the World Needs/Doesn't Need Superman".

For me, Supermen bring Lex Luthors and General Zods. Let's not up the ante.

Nah, I'd prefer Spiderman or Batman, but that's just because I'm a bigger fan of them. Or we could have X-men. Wow, imagine a real life Wolverine? Then of course, I remember all the destruction and chaos caused by the super-heros going up against super-villans. Those guys make terrorists look like pre-schoolers.

You know, maybe singrdave is right - lets not up the ante. So you have the same sort of crazies on the road as we do. The only way to stop these idiots from speeding is by taking their cars off them. Of course, this is never going to happen.

So true Trudy, so true!

I know. It was not a pretty sight. It kind of brought me back to reality and made me realise how fragile our lives are. They did there and then, especially my youngest. It definately made them more aware of how careful we have to be when we're on the road.

One can only hope Trudy, we can only hope.

Nawwww, not General Zod......that meniac deserves to stay where he is.....he's still in locked up in warped time zone or something isn't he?!

Women!Yea we got to live with them!

Hey, that's why we are here! Ever hopeful that we can change you men!

Thx Singrdave. Yes it didn't didn't it?! That was actually accidental, the comparison but it was very apt!

Hahaha....I like that..."make terrorists look like pre-schoolers".....

Hey, why not the entire Justice League!! You're right though, can you imagine the repair bill for each of our cities?!

Ha....although that's what the cops are there for and thank heavens for that! Too bad they're not around all the time when those crazy people are acting crazy!
