Naw...Body in Progress (yes?)

Journal entry 8/12/06

I got back not too long ago from working out at the gym. What a workout! I feel so energised. At least I did when I left, now I'm feeling sleepy because I had to run around for a bit and the sun is really hot out there today!

Anyway, First I walked for 15 minutes before the gym opened. When it did, I concentrated on weights today for about 30 mins. It was gruelling! I did a combination workout with several machines, working my arms, chest and thighs and back. I then jumped rope and did some workout with an exercise ball.

By the time I reached the Epiliptical machine I worked on it for 10 mins at high intesity and I was busted!

I had to do one more thing though, I worked out for 20 minutes on the threadmill. Doing a combination of walking at high speed and running. I usually have the bed of the threadmill on a slant to give me a more intense workout.

Whew!

Walking = 15mins
Weights = 30mins.
Cardio: 10 + 20 = 30mins.

Total work out time = 75mins

I'm ravenous now to go find something healthy to eat!

I'm still trying to give my entries a suitable title. Joe's using 'The Plan' Link nice but it's his, and I do love the subheading of "zen and the heart of fat ass maintenance"!

"Total Body workout" for this journal entry seems ok. Body in Progress sounds better! What do you think? [I'm asking you who took the time to read my blog (thank you, thank you! [with flourish and a ladyline curtsey] ) So, 'Body in Progress' sounds like a good title?

Well, thanks for your imput! Now hopefully I can do as Joe is doing and resist junk food today.

Wow, you're amazing, FS! About 25 minutes on the treadmill and I'm DONE! I can't imagine doing weights, jump-rope, elliptical, and treadmill all in one workout.

Great job! You're going to be SO sleek and toned!

Body in Progess sounds great...and wow, Serenity, I'm impressed!

Like TW, I don't know if I can handle all of that...last week, I started getting up at 5:30 in the morning to work out (so I'd have no more excuses of being tired after work), and I'm only doing 30 minutes a day of my machine or of an exercise program on tv (five days a week).Maybe I'll build up more stamina.

Seriously, though, way to go!

Say forever, I'm thinking of joining up with you, would that be ok?

You're on a different level that I can be, however would love to start getting healthier now that the weather is cooling down a tad here in Mn.

Whata ya think?

Thanks Tex! I'm trying, believe me, it's not easy. Call it determination.!

I hope so. It's going to be a long journey to that. I've really let myself go, not watching what I eat and having too much of it, finishing my daughter's food, totally just not working out anymore, all I have to do is look at something I love and feel the pound piling on; and so that's why I'm trying to get back in shape.

Thanks Rose! I like that title too!

This is great! Way to go Rose. It definately will build up your stamina. I started out small before going back to the gym. I started walking. I didn't do it everyday, but say about three times a week for 30 minutes at first then for about 45-one hour, depending on how much time I had, it varied. Then I started doing little things at home, stretching, sit ups, jump rope. You'ld be surprise how jumping rope builds your stamina. I'm still not there yet, I get winded doing it, but I'm getting better.

Seriously, though, way to go!

Again, thanks and you do the same!

Trudy that would be fabulous!

You will get to a better level of fitness once you do begin to do something, anything. I call it moving your body.

I'm planning to do some more jump rope tomorrow. I hope to go walking as well. Sunday is usually a busy day at home for me but I do try to squeeze that in.

So, what do you want to do, start out by walking? Even for 15 mins. You know what I do, when I can't go outside and walk, I walk around my apartment, in a circle. I go from one end to the other and build up speed and do it for about 15 mins. Then my kids join in and we make a game of it. Then I would stretch, this is very important. then I would lie on the floor and do easy sit ups, nothing back breaking. The thing is to just start moving your body, doing something you like, dancing is another way to work out. Just put on some music and dance, even with your knees you can do it.

I'm beginning to sound like a commercial!! But seriously, I think it's a great idea and we can be each other's motivator. Just log in and keep a log too, even if you want to do it on your own blog, not a problem! I find that doing it this way makes me more committed.
