Body in Progress Jounal Entry
I had a late start yesterday so I didn't do my usual walk before my power workout. I've named Saturdays my power workout day, plus it's the only day I have an entire morning to myself, without interruptions! When I work out at home, it's stopping to do something for someone. There's nothing wrong with that but you can imagine what it does for my staying power!
I went into the weights room to do some stretching and also work with my fav machine, "the back Extender", not the official name but that suits it real fine! Whenever I use it, it works my back, upper and lower, my pelvic, lower and my butt as well!
So I did some stretching and then took the 6lb dumbell to continue my workout with. I built up quite a sweat by the time I was done. Including the extender I worked out for 35 mins doing weights. Man, what a high!
I then went to the large room and use the rowing machine, then two other weight machines as I'm really trying to get my arms firm and get rid of the 'wings' that I've seem to develop after hitting the big 40. Would you believe I already see a difference in my arm? Yes! They are much more toned and I feel some firmness there. When I lift my arms and wave them, not too much of a wing flap! My kids get a kick out of it and tease me mercilessly! Harumph, I'll show them!
By now there were a few other people in the gym. A couple was working out together on the other weights machines, and there was a woman at the far end on an eliptical and a guy in the middle on a threadmill.
I first decided to use one more machine before doing cardio. This one stretches your inner thighs, and by the time I was done.. they were really stretched! [I'm still feeling the pain!]
Now I could go to the eliptical. I chose the one at the far end on the other side because I was sweaty and not that I smelled or anything I just didn't want to drip on anyone. Because I was so into my workout I was doing my breathing exercises at the same time. I've learned that how you breathe when working out makes a difference and that is so true. One upon a time I wouldn't breathe properly and would actually hold my breath which is the wrong thing to do.
When I'm on the machine, I would go normal speed, then build up to a really fast pace for about 1-2 mins, just go all out as if I'm in some kind of race. Then back to normal speed again. While I was doing this I'm doing my breatheing exercises, and also making little grunts.
In comes this guy and where does he starts his workout? You got it, right beside me. Not two machines away, or even one, right next to me! Ok, so it's a free world and that's ok, but the gym is empty! Anyway, I continued my workout and I"m wondering to myself, becoming more self concious about being so sweaty.
I began to wonder if this guy actually got a thrill out of my being sweaty. I'm wondering because he keeps bumping me ever so slightly, our arms would touch. I didn't really pay attention to it but then I began to think more carefully about it when it happened more than once! I then realised he seemed to be getting a thrill from it.
Whenever I go fast and do my breathing, he would do the same! I guess some people get a kick out of stuff like that. I can understand one being excited by a female's sweat and grunting noises, but not if you don't know her! And especially if you're not watching a porno and the action is exercising, not sexercising! hahahaa....
I actually like smelling the sweat of my hubby. His I know and can react to because it's familiar. I guess in away it would be like those animals who uses their pheromones to mark a spot or can tell if other males have intruded on their territory. This blog is definately going south,LOL! Let me get back to my body in progress log!
So in all I exercised for a full hour.
Weights = 35 mins
Cardio = 25 mins
Total workout time = 60 mins
