Body in Progress Journal Entry
Published on September 2, 2006 By foreverserenity In Diet
I didn't work out yesterday. It was just too crazy a day to do it. So I got up with the intentions this morning to have my Power Saturday! I walked first for 30 mins. By the time I was done I was wet because the day was already hot. It felt good though.

I went to the gym and started out as usual in the weights room. I worked with the dumbells and weight balls for a while. Then I went to my favorite machine, the back extender.

I then did some more workout focussing on my arms. I also used the leg extender machine. That was hard!

The gym was a bit more busy today. There were even more men than usual. When I looked around I noticed that I was the only female in the gym at that hour! That got me a bit self concious, but I just got over myself and continued working out!

As I went to work on the threadmill I saw two other ladies coming in, yea women!

I worked out for 15 mins on the thread mill. I did a combination of light running, power walking and regular walking to get my heart rate back to normal. I tilted the bed of the threadmill to 6.5. It was great!

I didn't bother with the epiliptical machine since there were too many people in that area.

All in all I got a very good work out!

Cardio: 30 + 15 = 45 mins

Weights: 30 mins.

Total workout = 75 mins.

Haha, that got me for a minute!

Yea, this would be good. They can be expensive but there are those smaller versions out there that won't hold you to a long-ass contract! In Brooklyn I used to go to the gym at the Recreation center in the neighborhood. It was a minimal cost and then extras for anything else. I used to just do the class on a monthly fee basis.

Here, thank heavens my job has a gym so I don't pay to go. I just have to keep my membership active to use it. Gosh ain't I lucky?! That's the small gym and it's better than nothing! The larger (yes there are two of them) more 'posh' one with all the trimmings cost more than I can afford at the moment. I'll stick to the smaller gym. It works fine! Plus there's not that many 'hard' bodies around and I can relax without being too self concious!

Hang in there, Donna!

Thx Joe! I'm grateful for the encouragement! You hang in there too. When the weather gets too much for you to go out, just do a couple of spins inside, works for me! Also, if you have steps or stairs, works too although I know walking outside is better. Don't you give up on me Joe, you can do it!
