It’s Labor Day and I hope your day is going great so far! I’m going to get the kids ready to go out. Pool party and barbecue at my cousin’s house today! They’re getting antsy because they can’t wait to leave. Let them sweat a little!LOL!

Lately it’s been really difficult with my four year old. She’s just been non stop fighting with her brother over everything. There are times when they do get a long but the fighting and disagreements are happening too often these days.

I’ve talked to both of them, put them on time out, even had to resort to slapping because of what she did. I don’t know what else to do and it’s bothering me a lot.

She’s so different from her older brother and sister. When they were younger they had disagreements but not as often and not the way she does. She just doesn’t back down period. I just hope I’m handling it the right way with the disciplining, time out, denial of some things they like, or when necessary I will slap her on the leg. I try not to lose my cool but there are a couple of times when I’ve felt I am and so I have to walk away and close my bedroom door and wait until I cool off.

The constant bickering is driving me crazy and I’m at my wits end as to what to do next. I don’t want them to grow up hating each other or not getting along.

I’m on the hunt for another car. Since we ended up giving the car we left in NY away to a school, and the second one we had here with us was just in no shape for the roads here, so we junked it. We kind of regretted it but it just would have cost too much to repair.

So we’ve been using our one faithful car and the constant up and down is just too much for one car with a family of five and kid’s friends.

I don’t want to have a car payment that would just be too much for me to handle right now, at this point, plus we’re saving for something else, so we’re going to just buy one that is for sale by a previous owner. We wanted a van but at this point I would rather just have a car that everyone can fit into. We can get a van another time because I would really prefer to have the van that I really like and a new one at that. So we’ve tabled that for anther time.

For now it will be a car, as long as it’s in good shape and I won’t have to worry about it breaking down I’m good to go. Thank heavens my hubby knows all about cars so he will know what’s a good deal and what is not. He used to re-build his own car when we lived on the island. He bought cars and fixed them up and either kept them or sell them. I remember a porche he used to have, my first time riding in one too. Four of us, my best girlfriend and his best friend (who were going out at the time too) used to pile into it and go out on the town. Man you should have seen us because there were only two seats and the little space in the back was ridiculous for the two of them to fit!haha…those were the days! I keep saying that don’t I?! It’s fun to remember though!

I have to call my friends in Brooklyn to see what’s going on but I have a good idea!

Gosh look at the time. I’ve got to get cracking. There’s a cold draft with my name on it and a barbecue waiting to be had! Have a fun day doing whatever you do JU! I’ll check in later!

Four in a Porsche? Sounds like a good name for a movie.

Donna,

My youngest was like your 4 year old.  Everything was his, and he tried running away several times. (none of the others did).  And he broke a window in the family van (that is another story).  Kicked a hole in the door downstairs (he will pay for it).  yea, pretty much like your 4 year old.

But that was almost 10 years ago.  Today?  best son a father could ever ask for!

I dont know if she will grow out of it, but mine did.  Perhaps that is what you need?  Just hope that they do grow out of it?

Mine did!  And He is going to UCLA! (No, not my school, but the one with the best film).

Haha, yea M, that was very risky but we did it!

Wow Phillip! {and if you could hear me I'm yelling right now!] My other two were never like her though. I don't know why she's so different! It's a lot of attention and 'kid glove' handling where she's concerned.

Oh boy, I hope so! I know she will and I can't wait!

Great! Congrats and that's really good!
