This year’s shopping for Homecoming was a lot different than last year's. This year my daughter has been working part time and could fund her own outfit. She was pretty proud of herself and I was of her too.
We spent Friday evening at the mall, second evening, because she couldn’t find what she wanted to wear. Finally she settled on a nice blouse that had a jewelry attached. It looked great on her too. What was great about it was I chose it after she was ‘spinning’ around for so many hours and I knew it would be a good fit for her. She liked it!
I was also asked by another shopper about what she should wear to go to an event the next day as well. I walked around with her and helped her find something appropriate and which she also liked. Brought me back to my days in retail!
Then my youngest with her sauciness put on a pair of ankle length high heeled boots prancing around in them! I kindly told her she wasn’t old enough and it wasn’t her time yet. All I could do was shake my head while the other shoppers around us giggled at her antics!
We then went to a different shoe store where my oldest daughter could get the shoes she wanted. I treated her to them.
What was even better was that I found two really cute knit hats at a steal, a really good steal! They were funky but I’m like that so I bought them!
We all went home tired and happy!
