what's in a name?
Published on September 12, 2006 By foreverserenity In Music
At least he can't be "Diddy" in the UK. Sean "Diddy" Combs has to relinquish his name in the UK because there's someone already with that name there. A music producer Richard "Diddy" Dearlove took him to court over the use of the name "Diddy" because it was his first. Link

I've never heard of this person Richard "Diddy" Dearlove before. I guess because I don't live in the UK. He says he might not be as successful as Sean "Diddy" Combs but he is a successful business person in his own right. He's been receiving phone calls and emails from people who wants him to look at their clothesline and girls from Puerto Rico who wants to be in his videos.

Well I guess a person has got to defend their name, so I can't blame him!

I wonder what "Diddy" (Sean Combs) will come up with to market himself in Britain? Hmmm, perhaps he'll revert to "Puff Daddy"!

Just another senseless celebrity news for some, major news for others!LOL!

I wonder if Diddy Kong will get pissed about it next...

He's from Donkey Kong...for anyone who isn't video game savvy.

I thought that people could have the same name as other people. Just look in the phone book, and you'll have to call 20 people before you get the right one.

Oh yes! My name is very popular too. Even a small screen legend has it and I'm reminded every day when I meet strangers!

I guess because the guy was in the entertainment business, even though he isn't as well known.

Of all the names out there, arguing over 'Diddy' seems really silly. 'Diddy' sounds exactly like a cartoon ape's name from a video game.
