Referrals of JU Articles

This is very interesting!

I’ve always noticed that some of my articles get referred from time to time. Since I’ve seen this, I got curious and began checking them out.

I think it’s pretty darn interesting! Why you might wonder? Because that article you write when it’s Referred gets seen by so many more people, sometimes even other people might link to it or refer to it on their own blogs. It’s also a link on other websites which is pretty darn cool! I followed one of my recent blogs and it was featured in German, German! Isn’t that so mind boggling? JU is making me popular!LOL!

I like that, I really do! Because it makes you wonder that someone else, (and I’m not talking about you guys, we’re all another category) but other people out there in cyber land in other parts of the world actually enjoy what you write!

Some of the articles that I’ve written that no one has responded to or that maybe only two people have responded to have gotten a lot of play because of the referrals on them.

Now I’m figuring that when an article is referred, that brings the points ratings up, is that right? I’m wondering because those blogs that had little or no responses have a lot of views and points so that might just be right!

Here’s an example of what I’m talking about:

First let me refer to my most successful article which I actually didn’t even write in its entirety! Link. It was popular because of what it was about, but it had 50 responses which was great. It had 61 Referrals, 61! When you check out the links under the Referrals it takes you all over the place!

Here’s one of those Referrals: 1 Referral(s) from the 1 link(s) below:

1. Title: blog.myspace.com/dbur1972 Link
Views (1)

And one of my most recent about Genetically Altered Food, Link this only had one Referral but you can find it on Page 3 of the Google page if you do a search! Wow! (although there were four links within the Google site with 9 Referrals)

I wanted to show one of the least popular articles here was pretty darn popular to others elsewhere! I can’t search to find and link it because either my browser is giving me problems or JU is telling me it’s time to go to bed!LOL!

At any rate, I definitely think being referred is pretty cool! Yeah, I’m repeating myself but that’s alright!

Do you think the referrals are earned because of relevance of the topic to current affairs, or if it is simply a random thing ?

The ones from google are based on search terms. Sometimes you end up with ones that are pretty scary. One of the referrals to an article of mine was looking for "how to kill your wife". I haven't got a clue how Google picked up those words in my article. It certainly wasn't written about spousal murder.

I would be scared if I had not traced a few of my referals and found the same disconnect.

It is interesting to trace them at times. To see why people outside are coming in. But I like the ones that make more sense (the referals) as at least we can follow them.

A bit of both Aeryck. It definately is that the search engines are picking up on some words or sentences.

Oy vey! That is scary! I've seen one or two of those Referrals turn into weird findings. I too wondered why?!

Awhile back, there was a Star Wars thing going on with Pepsi and you could win stuff if you entered a code online. I won like two coupons for lemon Pepsi or something....I didn't want it, but I posted an article about it anyway. It was called, "Call Upon Yoda, I Must" and I don' t know how many referrals I got....but there was tons of traffic on that article....it's my top one, actually...and it contains nothing but the mention of that stupid contest. I think there are over 10,000 hits on it if I remember correctly.
