Fridays at work is supposed to be the laid back non hectic day right? At least most of the times. It’s the day before the weekend. Time to let that breath go and breathe a little! Or even time to really catch up on some of the stuff that 'you' have to get done since you've spent a week running around after other people!

Oh no. It’s like some people decide that they are actually doing work on a Friday. It’s like they stroll through the rest of the work week and then comes Friday and they realize all the things they have not done and you have to be on their schedule! Its rush, rush, rush and they can’t wait!

Do some work and stop loitering around the office then. That’s what you’re there for, to work! There’s nothing wrong with chatting for a few minutes or taking a break (yes you’re allowed a break!) to do whatever you have to do.

But there’s such a thing as learning to monitor yourself and your time. There’s such a thing as actually being organized enough to pace yourself so that when you have deadlines, they don’t just slap you in the face and you overreact in surprise as if you didn’t know there was one!

Geech!

I hated Fridays when I was in business for myself, you could never get anything done on a Friday - every other companies big nob had gone home from lunch - you know long lunch on a Friday or golf. You need some info in a hurry you aint going to get it on a Friday. Ticked me off no end.

In my case, it was a failed drive, a failed former boss who forgot to renew the warranty, and a bunch of newbies that are administering a new system and cant tell the difference between an application id and lan id!

But it is over and all is now well!

I love Fridays...the minute I get out of Anthropology at 12:50...I have like 2 and half days to chill out....it's such a wonderful feeling.

Ha! No such luck here. We have people calling from outside and it's like they wait until Fridays to bombard us on the phone and the fax!

It's becoming mine too! I'm learning to not let others stress me out when it's their problem. The trouble is I care too much about whatever I do and I always try to help everyone. Ah well...
