Why the endless cycle continues
Published on December 2, 2006 By foreverserenity In Misc

What is it that lets people get lost in the cracks of their life? It’s very easy to do so. When you have no one who cares enough about you to help lift you up when you need it. How can you pick yourself up when everything else in your life is going against you?

For example, there are so many children outside in this world who are so lost. They have nothing and no one to help them, or so it seems. Sometimes they do have parents but these parents are of no help to them and cannot provide guidance because they themselves are lost.

Thus the endless cycle continues. And that’s probably one of the reasons why there will be children who continue to run away from home, or who will be abused, or people who will continue to live the way they do.

Then the cry goes out as to why there are so many people that are on the government’s roll. The source of the problem has to be helped, not just monetary, but in other ways that will enable independence. They are like babies who will need their hands held until they can walk. We also need to get out of the mindset that only some people are like this. It happens to everyone and can happen to anyone.

Sometimes there are those who can make a difference and do nothing. That’s the worse part. Lamenting about another’s fate and doing nothing to help, is not helping. Even a little guidance from those who are more knowledgeable can make a difference.

Having been there myself, I believe the best thing I can teach my children is that they HAVE to be their own best advocate. They have to do the research and learn and figure out this world for themselves, because while there are a lot of great people out there that will do what they can to help you, they are helping a lot of people and can't focus solely on you. But you can. And the resources are out there, you just have to find them.

The best thing to teach our children to end this cycle and to find ourselves is to become lifetime learners.

Cheesy, but oh so true, at least to me.

Well said!

Tthis is good and so true too. You had that inner strength and determination, self-determination, to pull yourself through it. There are some people who don't and that's why the cycle for them and their children will continue.

Cheesy,

Not cheesy at all!

You pray, and you make things happen.

Sometimes there are those who can make a difference and do nothing.

This is defined as failure.

I can't do much..except share my cosmic wisdom, which I do with pleasure. I help when I'm able...whether people change or not is up to them, I can only help...

This is so true. People who help themselves and who are willing to do what it takes to get where they want to go, are the only ones who will get out of the rut they are in. Unless they want to be helped, they can't be no matter what's done for them.
