Remembering the true reason why we do celebrate.....the birth of Baby Jesus. I love listening to and retelling the story. I love singing the songs.....

Christmas carols...yeah, some of us hate them, but, it isn't Chritmas without them...

A Christmas tree....fake or real....

Decorations....how can it be without these?! Some people go all out, some do it on the down low...however you do it...have fun and enjoy every moment!

Santa Claus.....the big guy just makes it so much fun! I'm a Santa helper, as are all you folks who give presents and spread the love!

The smell of pines.....yummy...I really like that scent...I like to catch the whiff of the wind when I drive past those people selling Chritmas trees and the yard decorations they sell are always so nicely lit up!

The hustle and bustle.....of my own making.....I don't care too much for those scurrying out at the mall, too busy to be courteous or to even say excuse me....in fact, I haven't been to the mall this year......however, there are still people out there who feel the spirit, keep themselves in tact, are not too busy to be nice, or to smile or to say thank you...or even to appreciate help when it's offered....

Meloncholy...let's face it...we each, or most of us...will get a bit meloncholy at some point anytime during the season.....it doesn't matter what the reason is, it just happens. The thing is, hopefully when it happens to you, you can pull yourself up by your bootstrap and get on your merry way again! [smile...yeah you...smile]

Kids being over excited......and why shouldn't they be? After all, this is the big one, THE holiday of the year! And with gently nudges to remind them of what its all about...isn't it great to see them happy, and watch them dream as they wish for what they hope will be under the tree? And isn't their excitement just a bit catching, no matter what....you get a big ole smile on your face too....

Food...yep, fruit cake, eggnog, wine, beer, ham, even turkey...whatever you eat, or will eat....it ain't Christmas without food!

Chocolate! yep, it gets a category all on it's own...why...well... because it's CHOCOLATE!!!!!

Presents.....big or small, large...or not.....expensive, or not....presents are always good. And I like it even more when it's only the thought that counts!

Family......how can it be Christmas without family?! Love them or hate them....it's the same as Thanksgiving for some folks....but it's even better when it's the immediate family arround and then you go hopping and skipping to the other folks.

Friends are important too....and if you don't get the chance to see them, or talk to them at any other time of the year, you're sure to let them know you're there and you still care....and vice versa....friends are nice!

Yes Christmas would not be Christmas without these things....and perhaps a few others too...I'm sure I've missed something! You can fill in whatever you want.

Merry Christmas JU.....MERRY CHRISTMAS one and all!

You forgot....

PIE! It's all about the PIE!

(I know you said food, but pie gets a special category! I mean, gimme 1/4 of your best punkin pie smothered with 8 ounces of Cool Whip and I can call it good! You can even keep my hands off'n the turkey thataway!)

Haha, you're right! My daughter, my 5 yr old, refused to leave the big W yesterday until I bought Pumpkin pie! We had to go in search of it at the Bakery because there wasn't any out. There were a lot of sweet potato pies, but no pumpkin. We did score one though!! She was very happy!
