Now that the big day is here, I'm rather tired. My kids got me up early, actually since 5am...I told them to go back to bed...then at 6am....nope, not getting up yet....then at 7am....finally I caved, since my hubby was up, I crawled out of bed.
They plugged the tree in, which is what we normally do on the morning of Christmas and it stays plugged in the entire day!

Feed the fishes, since they're right there, the tank next to the tree, and they hear all the commotion. When I peeped in at them before turning on their lights and the air bubbles, some of them were just laying there, right on the top of the water, not moving. Then they did a dive and came up again! Who said fishes weren't smart?!LOL! It's feeding time and they know it!

I started to record a video of the activities of opening presents, with my hubby's phone and what do you know, I can't find it on the phone! I looked in the menu to find it but couldn't. Oh well...
So the kids dived in, continuing to open their presents..ooohs and ahhhs... which was great!

I even got an upgraded pre-paid phone with my very own camera! I'm the 'stepchild' with the pre-paid phone, my choice for now, since we already have two cellphone bills paying, my hubby and daughter, they talk a lot you see! While my son and I have pre-paid phones. Yeah, much better.

I cooked breakfast, in fact, I had to coax the kids into having breakfast this morning. Turkey sausage and fried eggs with bread, tomatoes and tea or coffee.
I'm half asleep still. I can't seem to keep my eyes open! It's really Christmas....turned on the tv, yeah, Christmas is all over the morning programs.
******************************************
It's cooking time. Much like Thanksgiving, Christmas for us in the Caribbean is a food affair. It's time to put the ham in the oven and also the cornish hens. So I seasoned and I put them in.
Yawn...I really need to go lie down....
I did a round of telephone calls to greet my closest relatives, siblings and all....it's great to hear their voices!
******************************************
Believe it or not, I'm really glad the day has come, the kids just wouldn't stop harrassing me about the presents. And thank heavens I found what my son wanted because he was rather caught up with it all.

Last night we spent the night listening to Christmas carols and singing along with no lights except from the Christmas tree and the tv, that was rather nice.
Hmmm, the smell of the ham is wafting out to me and what a scent that is! I'm going to make Whip's Sweet Potatoe Pie recipe today. This time I made sure to get the Pecans! Oh yeah, and Xythe's Cucumber salad too! I can't wait!
Well you guys....hope your morning is going well. Enjoy the rest of the day!
