Sing, sing a song...
Published on January 8, 2007 By foreverserenity In Blogging
I'm suddenly in the mood to share my zany mood today! Yeah, uh uh...I'm in a good mood, considering I woke up with one of those migraines this morning. But I'm better now and in a much better mood. No longer foreverfrustrated...lol....boss10__ now I've gone and forgotten his handle - sorry boss!)

He was funny and that made me do one of those laugh! I like people who can see the funny side of things!

Anyway, I've been humming Billy Joel's song My Life and also I love Rock and Roll by Joan Jett! Weird combination but somehow liberating! Join the sing a long! I pretend I'm stomping my feet to both music!

Billy Joel's My Life

Got a call from an old friend
We used to be real close
Said he couldn't go on the American way
Closed the shop, sold the house
Bought a ticket to the West Coast
Now he gives them a stand-up routine in L.A.

CHORUS
I don't need you to worry for me cause I'm alright
I don't want you to tell me it's time to come home
I don't care what you say anymore, this is my life
Go ahead with your own life, and leave me alone

I never said you had to offer me a second chance
I never said I was a victim of circumstance
I still belong, don't get me wrong
And you can speak your mind
But not on my time

They will tell you you can't sleep alone
In a strange place
Then they'll tell you you can't sleep
With somebody else
But sooner or later you sleep
In your own space
Either way it's okay
You wake up with yourself.

I Love Rock N' Roll
(J. Hooker/A. Merrill)

I saw him dancin' there by the record machine
I knew he must a been about seventeen
The beat was goin' strong
Playin' my favorite song
An' I could tell it wouldn't be long
Till he was with me, yeah me, singin'

I love rock n' roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock n' roll
So come an' take your time an' dance with me

He smiled so I got up and' asked for his name
That don't matter, he said,
'Cause it's all the same

Said can I take you home where we can be alone

An' next we were movin' on
He was with me, yeah me

Next we were movin' on
He was with me, yeah me, singin'

I love rock n' roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock n' roll
So come an' take your time an' dance with me

Said can I take you home where we can be alone

An we'll be movin' on
An' singin' that same old song
Yeah with me, singin'

I love rock n' roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock n' roll
So come an' take your time an' dance with me

Both songs rock: Joan Jett is fantastic, with "Love is a Battlefield" one of the best grrl videos before its time, and "My Life" the best song used as a theme song for Bosom Buddies 1980s, with Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari.

They sure do!

Yes, I know. Wonderful information Nic! I enjoyed watching Bosum Buddies too, it was funny! I'm not too hip on Joan's other song, but I do love her singing this song and I loved the girl groups of the 80s!

Joan Jett really rocked. That one you posted never gets old. That's what it means to be a classic!
