I was thinking about this song, "Thank Heaven for Little Girls" by Maurice Chevalier..from the movie Gigi...a movie I love to watch and I think there was a series too. Or was it the series and then the movie?

Can't remember....anyway...I've been listening to oldie but goody music as well because my oldest girl is going to audition for a role in a play at school and it's a 1920's thing. So we've been listening to Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horne and some other songs and music from that era. It made me realise how wonderful music is and how good it makes you feel and how great it was to be able to share my knowlege, of what I knew with them.

We dance and we sing and we roll around the floor....totally insane.

I've been busy you guys....haven't been on a lot lately, at least not as much as I would like to be so I haven't been keeping up as much as I would like.

I'm so sorry to hear Elie is in the hospital. I was praying for him this morning too..(and a few other folks)....don't know why, there are times when I get the urge to pray for people...I hope he'll come through this. Love you Elie.

It's a madhouse at work right now, I'm swamped and have to get back to work...my homelife is just as busy....and the kids demand so much of my time, as old as they are. But I'm happy to be able to give them my time, so no complaints!

I still haven't really sat down and penned by resolutions...no pressure on me, just focussing on other things......like my daughter's prom, her audition....her graduation coming up...college...yikes!

That song reminded me of the article Tova wrote Link. I see those pictures of Brandie's, Jill's and Angela's babies...they ae so adorable! I love babies..(nope, no more for me thank you!) (did I lose you yet...I know my thoughts can be all over the place-LOL!)

I've been watching movies on tv that I love, like Love Actually, In her Shoe, and anything with Diane Keaton! Fun stuff!

Here's the lyrics to that song...

Thank heaven for little girls
for little girls get bigger every day!

Thank heaven for little girls
they grow up in the most delightful way!

Those little eyes so helpless and appealing
one day will flash and send you crashin' thru the ceilin'

Thank heaven for little girls
thank heaven for them all,
no matter where no matter who
for without them, what would little boys do?

Thank heaven... thank heaven...
Thank heaven for little girls!

Now my ramble is at an end......

Never heard of the series.  But Maurice and his song will always remain with me.

Heya, Donna, I was thinking about you yesterday and wondering where you were. Glad to hear you're alright albeit busy. I'm back at work now and up to my neck in it already.

I like rambles. These are the brambles of the mind and good to get out, if you know what I mean.

I didn't have a problem keeping up.

You do sound busy though.

It sounds like you and your daughter have a great relationship.  I never had a relationship with my mom, but a lot of my friends seemed to run hot or cold with theirs.  They either really got along, or they fought all the time and it wasn't until their thirties that the bridges were rebuilt.

Your children are lucky to have you.

Your children are lucky to have you.

So true! Good luck to your daughter in her audition. Now I have a "craving" for 20's music too!

I actually like rambles like this, as it makes me feel like I'm hearing the blogger uncensored.

Thank you guys, each of you! I seem to be locked out of my blog in that I can't comment unless I go to my blog and hit the comment button without seeing anything else. Weird! But, thanks you guys!

I'm happy my girls and I have a great relationship. My mom was very reserved when we were younger, (I have two sisters and thre brothers) but she did make up for that in doing fun things with us, as strict as she was. We had our moments too. When I got older I realised it's just the way she was brought up and she was being over protective. I've learned a lot from her and am glad we all turned out the way we are because of it.
