She did it, she got the Oscar!

I'm watching the Oscars right now and I have to tell you I didn't expect her to win and I'm glad she did. Because it gives hope to those who are out there trying to become a success at whatever it is they are doing. That one day, they too can have the recognition and success.

Oh,On another note, Al Gore and his group just won the Oscar for their docu-reality on Global Warming. I didn't see it, but I did hear it was pretty informative!

Congratulations Jennifer!

OK, so you scopped me on Gore (I had to opine on the announcer's comment), but I got you on Hudson. Amazing when you think that, had she WON American Idol, she might not have gotten this chance. Had she not been a contestant, she almost DEFINITELY wouldn't have gotten the chance. I was happy to see Hudson's win, but not so much Gore's (although it WAS the biggest nonsurprise of the night).

And I personally think Ellen's doing a brilliant job as the host. I rarely laugh at Oscar hosts, but she's been pretty funny!

Ditto on that! She's doing an outstanding job! I loved that little skit with Clint Eastwood!!

Yes, it's Jennifer's year alright!

I wonder which of the Idol's contestant will be a success this year?! That show has not been doing too bad on the ones in the top 5 at all!

I still think Ellen's best line of the night was when she was talking about dreaming about hosting the Oscars, when those who dreamed about winning the Oscars didn't have their dreams come true:

"This should be a lesson to American children: aim lower!"

I LOVED it!!!

! She's so funny! I loved the part when she went behind the screen and did the animal shadows! Then the dancers re-enacted the snake on a plane scene....!

Forrest Whittaker finally got his Oscar too!!!!!!! Wow, his wife is gorgeous!

Martin Scorscese...I saw that one coming, finally got his too!

Defintely Marty's big night...he deserves it!

As for Forest Whitaker, while I haven't seen "The Last King of Scotland", I was pulling for Will Smith. Maybe later, I guess!

I was too! But I'm glad Forrest won because he's been at it even longer and he's done such outstanding work!

Yeah, but, see...I'm a Denzel Washington fan, and of course, Denzel beat out Will when he was nominated for Ali. Well, I have to admit that "Training Day", the movie that finally won Denzel his Oscar, was NOT Denzel's best work (although, like all of his roles, it was a very good performance), and that Will put out a better performance as Ali...was kinda hoping Will would get his this year since he had to sit the bench behind Denzel.

Besides...you gotta admit...A Will Smith win would make an EXCELLENT basis for a "Fresh Prince Reunion" special...lol!
