Weird Referrals
Links to my Articles

I like the fact that there are sometimes referrals to some of my articles. I've mentioned that before and how much of a 'kick' I get out of the fact that other people outside of JU reads me! I found one of my poems on someone's web blog the other day! [duly referred and linked too]
Recently I've noticed a different type of referral linked to some of my articles, namely
166.96
. I clicked on it out of curiosity since it wasn't a link I recognized.
The first time I did it at home, it took forever for the link to be opened on my home computer and me, being the nut I am sometimes, shut down my computer for fear of there being a virus or something attached! I worried that I had crashed my system and I was going to warn Brad and everyone etc.........yeah, nice going Donna, your doomsday scenario didn't play out!
Well, needless to say, I was glad I had remained calm and gotten distracted by my even nuttier kids and so left it alone for the moment. Then my computer came back on again without problems so I just chalked it down to a weird moment and dreamed of one day buying myself a brand new faster computer! [yes I know computers are cheaper now, blah blah, but I have my priorities and don't really need a faster pc.......just shut up and read on will ya!]
I began noticing the reference again on more of my articles whenever I checked out who linked to a particular article.
I clicked on the link and this reference came up:
http://214.13.166.196:15871/cgi-bin/blockOptions.cgi?ws-session=323565190
Views (1)
So I clcked on it and this is the Search page that comes up after my above link is entered.
http://aolsearcht2.search.aol.com/aolcom/afe?invocationType=400ERROR-TB&query=214.13.166.196:15871%2Fcgi-bin%2FblockOptions.cgi%3Fws-session%3D323565190
I get an Error message- Error 400 '214.13.166.19...' Bad Request. - which you can see too when I link it for you:
Link
Although there is an Error warning noted, the page has information about ‘214’ as in Area Code 214, Township School District 214, Lost DD-214’s, Veteran’s info request for military personnel, Discharge papers and separation documents…..it goes on and on!
Then I try again by hitting the Refresh button and this link comes up:
http://aolsearcht2.search.aol.com/aolcom/search?invocationType=topsearchbox.search&query=214.13.166.196%3A15871%2Fcgi-bin%2FblockOptions.cgi
[I'll make it easy for you and link it directly:
Link
So I decided to remove some of the address like this:
http://214.13.166.196:15871/cgi-bin/blockOptions.cgi
And found this:
http://randomthoughts.joeuser.com/index.asp?aid=142937
Gene Nash’s article about the same link, wondering if he has been banned by the Military Command in Iraq!
And when I clicked on the one of the other link on that page, I find a link to Greywar’s blog page referencing the same link:
http://greywar.joeuser.com/referrals.asp?cmd=showArticleReferralDetails&AID=143304&dname=166.196
Hey guys, you're even more famous than you thought!LOL!
Weird uh?!
It's weird because usually when you click on any referral linked to your blogged article, you see your article (which is cool) and/or something similarly related to what you're talking about in your article.
However, to just keep getting these error messages and weird references to military info and the number 214, just doesn't make sense....and I find that, yeah - WEIRD!
