I'm such a shopper!

I like to pride myself on being a bargain hunter, but alas that doesn't always happen. I walk into the drug store to get milk and decided to get some makeup because my supplies have dwindled somewhat from use and things getting old!

There's a lot of buy one get one half priced sale going on at our local Walgreens. Do you think I would try to find something from those items on sale? Noooooo! I go to the ones that I like and know that works. Although I do like to try new stuff, this time I really wanted my staple bronzer because the other one was finit! It wasn't on sale...although the price is pretty cheap at $3.99, I wanted it to be on sale! Come to think of it though, I could have sworn I paid $2.99 the last time.....hmmm. Maybe not! I put it in my basket anyway!

I've been looking for a really nice, hot nail color to wear on my toes and fingernails for the summer. Even at my age I love wearing colors that are nice, although I no longer wear the neon ones....hey a girl has got to know when to pass that stage! I wanted to get a lovely pink, not pale, which I would usually wear, but a nice hot pink!

Any on sale...yeah, but I didn't gravitate towards those. I chose a pale gold color instead that is going to look great on my feet and fingers, especially since I"ve gotten a shade darker since the weather has gotten warmer around here. So at $1.99, deal!

Which reminded me to get a facial sunblock. I decided to try something new. It mentioned that it was an age fortifyer...I guess I can use all the help I can!lol! And the big deal cincher...it was on sale, half off at $2.50!

And last but not least of my fab find for my summer replacement make up....this nice caramel/orange/bronze lip gloss! It wasn't on sale but it was a good price at $2.99! I have a pale gold lipstick that's been sitting in my makeup basket at home since I bought it about two months ago...new find...so this will go nicely over it! When I wear it by itself, it's way too pale for me.

So those items along with some shampoo and conditioner and a gallon of milk, which was for $3.19 came up to the grand total of $19....and change! I was hoping the milk was on sale at $2.49, which is usually a steal in my neighborhood but it wasn't. Although at $3.19 it's still less than Walmart's $3.69! Outrageous! Hey, if you buy milk as often as I do, about three to four times per week, you would complain too!

So here's a pic of my new finds! I dunno, you might want to see what it looks like!lol!

Summer Staples

During the warmer, make that hot summer months, we always have in our refridgerator ice pops and ice cream bars! They came in handy yesterday because it was soooo hot!

The good thing is now they make the sugarless, or less fattening ones which I've been buying and the kids enjoy too! I was surprised at that! And they still do taste good! Seriously!

Rain today!

I'm looking out at my window as I sit here and type and it's raining! No way, I was so looking forward to a morning power walk but I was waiting on my little one to wake up since I promised she would go with me this morning. Ah well, I guess it's the Performa machine for me today!

She and my son have been wanting to go to the pool, we have a community pool but I have been begging off since I"m not bathing suit ready yet! I have to give in though, perhaps next weekend! I'll wear my long shorts that won't show too much thigh...lol! Come to think of it, it will be my birthday weekend!

More Three-way!

Last night again, another three way conversation with my bro and sis! It was my younger sister's birthday! I like it that we're doing the three-way thing, it's so much easier!

Almost Prom

Next week it's the big day...Senior prom! My daughter has found her dress, her shoes, and the jewellery to complement the outfit. We have to make hair appointment and she wants to do her nails....don't ask, it's a big deal! We made a make up appointment at the Prescriptive counter for next week Friday! These girls are going all out! Thank heavens she can foot most of the bill!lol!

Of course I'm going to post pictures! How can I not share this special day with my friends uh?

Well, a bit more reading/commenting and perhaps more posting and then it's off to prepare dinner! Hope you're having a good Sunday so far JUsers!

I love going through the Walgreens advert every Sunday...there is always some little thing or other on sale that I want. I always check for the buy one-get-one free stuff as well.

We got two for one light bulbs the other day...and I just had to stop by the 75% off Easter candy bin...lol. Got myself some Whoppers Robin eggs.

How exciting that your daughter's prom is coming up!

Btw, for some reason, I cannot see the pics you posted.

I like articles like this.

When it comes to groceries I'm a super shopper but let me go to Walgreen's and I buy needless things.

During those hot months forget the ice cream bars and make some frozen margaritas. Then invite JU over.

Hope your daughter's prom goes really well and thanks for sharing this blog. Toni and I had a nice relaxing Saturday, did a little gardening to get our vegetable patch ready for winter growing. Saturday night, we went out to see one of our favourite bands, Gomez, play in town. It was a lot of fun. Sunday was a sleep in and then band rehearsals. I'm not sorry I'm busy but I could do with some quiet time.

Have a great week, Donna.

Bright colors on women (perhaps not neons) are always pretty.  Women can wear them - men just look.  Dull colors for us!

Me too. Sometimes I go there and end up spending $60 - $80 bucks buying supplies and everything else I don't need! I don't know how that happens! This is the first I"ve gone in there and only spent $20 bucks!lol! Thank heavens too!lol!

! I actually wanted to make that recipe that Shovel had on his blog but couldn't find Tequila and didn't want to go anywhere else to look for a bottle. I guess I'll try it another time! Ended up with beer instead!

Neons only on the toes Doc!lol! anywhere else would be quite odd!lol! But yeah, women look good in colors, although I love to see a man in pastel colors when he wears a suit, or a nice colored Tshirt!

Well, it is mainly Toni. We got plenty of tomatos, peppers, chilis and herbs over the summer. Toni is prepping the soil now for winter green leafy veggies and runner beans. I'm going to put in a pumpkin vine and get started on the fruit trees, which haven't been pruned properly for years. It is no wonder these trees aren't giving out any fruit. Hopefully next summer, with my care, they will.

This is great! My friends and families usually plant their own stuff too. I think it's great when you're able to do so. I will one day when I have my own backyard!
