Life as I Know It; Family; Lifestyle; and Healthy Living!
I was watching Nightline tonight and heard about this insane, idiocy, for-the-love-of-god ridiculous lawsuit because of a pants that was misplaced by a dry cleaning store.

The person who is doing the lawsuit, a lawyer...er..an administrative judge! The people who owns the dry cleaning establishment, an older couple who have had the business for many years and have never had something like this happen to them. They have tried to settle the case. They found the pants and even offered the idiot $3000; then $4600; then $12,000 to settle the lawsuit. The idiot with the law degree refuses to take the money and refuses to pick up the pants.

He's suing for the cost of renting a car for the next however many years it's going to cost him to go to the other side of town to another reputable cleaner to have his dry cleaning done; the emotional stress; the inconvenience; the dry cleaning store advertising that clothing will be given back same day, his wasn't, so it's false advertisement. There are other ridiculous claims in the lawsuit, thus the $67 Million price tag!

I googled it and found a few links, one of them I'm posting here. Link

Here's an article that includes a letter that I applaud asking for his disbarment! Link

As Mason would say, what an asshat!

I agree.

What won't people sue others for these days? Usually in cases like this you could just be pissed and not use the service anymore...that's kind of how things are supposed to work. Who sues a drycleaners?

*sigh* I can't believe people are really this stupid...if he wins my faith in humanity will go down another notch.

I know! He's being very deliberate too!

Thankfully, Australia would never allow this to get to a court, let alone a Supreme court.

Yeah, what Mason would say...

Kind of makes you wonder about his true intentions doesn't it?

I am not too sure of that.  After all, Australia has the "Accidental Life" suit.

I hope this bug gets squashed down and humiliated, and the couple gets full court costs from him!

Yeah, I hope he gets what he deserves! He's misusing his knowledge. While I can understand being upset, but at least they found the darn pants and why not just take the thing already or since you need a quick buck you asshat, take the money they offered! Swine! Sorry folks, people like this make me sick!

What a mean and stubborn person. His comeuppance will hopefully be swift.

It would be nice if they counter sued for all the stress he is now causing and got awarded double what he is demanding! heheheh.

What a douche bag. Hopefully all that bad karma will come back and bite him in the ass.
