Thin Crust or Thick?
The Great Pizza Debate

There was a time when pizza was done just one way, regular, seasoned according to some secret recipe, the more secret the better the pizza, and enjoyed with every finger-lickin enjoyment.
These days there are so many different variety, there seems to be a new type invented every month! Now there are thick, or thin or stuffed crust. There are also the 'quadrillion' diffent toppings that you can have on your pizza, as well as the different combinations!

doesn't think there should be pineapples on a pizza pie! I've never had pineapple pizza myself. That is just a bit too weird to me! Of course I know what's weird to me may not be for the person who loves to have their pizza that way!
There's nothing like a slice of pizza, cooked the right way to get your taste buds going. I can eat three slices, given how hungry I am, and have from time to time. My pizza has to be hot, but not too hot to eat, melting cheese, very tasty in the seasoning and toppings must be fresh and cooked, not thrown on! My favourite is the regular done just right, not crispy and not limp!
I love, love tomatoes on a mozzarella cheese pie. The tomatoes have to be melted into the pie, not thrown on top. Alas, not everyone knows how to make it, or take their time in doing it right. So if I want it the way I like it, I would have to take a trip to NY and go to the Greenwich Village, and get my pizza from that little pizza place near NYU.
I've had pizza most places I've been to, and that's not really a lot. But I can't seem to get the perfect tasting pizza! Here in the city where I live, Papa John's comes to the closest to what I like. I love, love their jalapeno peppers! The only thing is my family doesn't like Papa John's so I usually end up eating pizza from somewhere else!
Annual pizza sales in the US is $35 Billion dollars and the average man, woman or child consumes about 23lbs of pizza on an annual basis! Americans do eat a lot of pizzas!
I've never had Chicago pizzas, but I've heard from those who have and it's the best...to me that's just according to what any individual likes. People in Boston probably says the same about their pizzas!

MMMMMM that pizza looks good! Thin crust is the best and I am one of those that loves ham and pineapple, loads and loads of pineapple with a creamy garlic and chives sauce thrown on top, hahahahha, now my taste buds are working overtime, mmmmmmmm nice!

My favorite is Pizza Hut pan pizza with sausage and mushrooms. Of course, I'm the only one in my family who likes this so I don't get it very often. If they have a deal or a coupon then I will get one just for me. We normally just get cheese because everyone likes that and there is no complaining.

Papa Johns has Pepperchinos, not jalapenos. And I love thin crust! With Anchovies!

Pizza Hut is my favorite too....but definitely THICK crust for me. My husband brought back thin last week and it tasted way too crunchy and tasteless to me. I could go for both the ham and pineapple and the sausage and mushroom....both sound good to me.

Ha, I'm actually eating leftover pizza right now!
I'll bet I eat more than 23 lbs of it each year, too.
My favorite would be Pizza Hut stuffed crust with garlic (they don't do garlic here, though). I also like thin crust from PH. Thin crust everywhere else is usually lacking the little rim. It's just like pizza on a cracker. Yuck.
California Pizza Kitchen makes good pizza, but I rarely get to go there.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Papa John's spice packets! Mmmmm!
(I'm eating pineapple pizza this morning, hahaha)

It's just like pizza on a cracker.
That's what's terrible about the domino's thin crust. It reminds me of the matzo pizza guys in my fraternity ate when I was in college, and looks just as unappealing today.
For the major chains, my vote absolutely has to go with PJ's. Pizza hut always seems too greasy to me, and I can't handle all the cheese in the stuffed crust variety.
Of course, living in Manhattan, to even consider pizza from a national chain is tantamount to treason, though sometimes you just want that particular taste.

Man, I love that place. Chain-wise, it's the best pizza money can buy. Barbecue chicken, BLT, Candied Pear & Gorgonzola - the combinations are endless, inventive, different, and (most importantly, I may add) incredibly tasty.
I'm salivating just thinking about Pear & Gorgonzola pizza, trapped at work with nothing to eat.
Wicked, man.
Wicked.

At one point, Ronzio's pizza had a deal where you could pickup a medium one-topping pizza for $5. That's an okay deal, most places have the 3 pizzas for $5 each anyway. But, you could get a large for $6, and an extra-large for $7. Two weeks later, they added 99 cents to each of those prices. Still a great deal, and great pizza. Grilled chicken is my favorite from them, but they have better pizzas with more than one topping. Unaffordable to me, though.

MMMMMM that pizza looks good!
Doesn't it?! I could eat it right now!
now my taste buds are working overtime, mmmmmmmm nice!
Mine too! Yum! Just the thought of extra garlic on a slice and I like tossing some red pepper flakes on mine too!

Yum, I like mushrooms too! Is that how it always is? We moms have to compromise a lot! Next time I'm going to buy one pie from Papa John's and the other from Pizza hut, my hubby and the kids like that one.
Papa Johns has Pepperchinos, not jalapenos.
We have the jalapenos here. They've also prepared for me specially, half jalapenos, half mushrooms!
And I love thin crust! With Anchovies!
Anchovies...oy! I won't knock it since I haven't tried it!
!
but definitely THICK crust for me
Thick is good! Pineapple and ham...I don't know...!
Ha, I'm actually eating leftover pizza right now!
If it's left over I have to reheat it!
I'll bet I eat more than 23 lbs of it each year, too.

I like there's too! They're a bit more pricey here but it's really good!

Ha! That's funny that you were!
That's what's terrible about the domino's thin crust. It reminds me of the matzo pizza guys in my fraternity ate when I was in college, and looks just as unappealing today.
Dominos yuck, although I've eaten it when I was desperate!
Pizza hut always seems too greasy to me
I usually have to blot the slice with a napkin!

! I hear ya! I usually enjoyed going to the Italian places when I lived in NY.

Wicked!
! They do make good pizza!
Papa Johns for me.
No wonder we get a long!

Ronzio's pizza
I've never heard of them? Most of the chains have had this $5 deal. I've never had the grilled chicken that should be good!
but they have better pizzas with more than one topping. Unaffordable to me, though.
A lot of them do and that's why it's good when they have deals!

The crust to me really doesn't matter...I'm a sauce girl! As long as the sauce is good, I'm happy...lol.
btw, in the past months, my favorite pizza has seemed to be the Chicago Classic from a restaurant called Peter Piper Pizza. It has Pepperoni, Sausage, and Green Peppers...yummy.
