Everyone needs a hug sometimes!
I didn't realise that I wasn't giving out too many hugs lately. It's surprising the difference a hug makes to the person receiving it and especially to the person giving it! With all the turmoil happening in and around my household, hugs was scarce, even prior to those events!
I noticed my little one was becoming extremely belligerent, because she was having a tough time too, trying to make friends with the little girls around our neighborhood who could be so mean because they were three or four years older than her! I would fuss at her when she did something wrong, or that I thought was wrong.
One day when she was just not listening to anything I said, I went up to her and I gave her a big bear hug, I held on tight and I said, I love you. She began to cry! What a break through! So I decided to continue to do this and not forget, that sometimes a hug makes a world of difference and reminds the person receiving it know how much they are loved and cared for.
My son comes up to me and hug me often. He might be turning a teenager in a two months but he's not too shy to hug is mommy. I return in kind!
I'm making sure my hubby and I hug more too. Sometimes we just go up to each other, no matter what the other person is doing and rest a head on a shoulder or just hold each other. That's just so beautiful.
My next hug mission, my oldest daughter, who I realise haven't we haven't hugged in a while. We used to hug and kiss goodnight every night since she was little. But since turning, gee, come to think of it, 17, haven't hug much at all! Hmmm...I'm just now realising that!

Here's Wikipedia's definition of what a Hug is:
[quote]A hug is form of physical intimacy that generally involves closing or holding the arms around another person. The hug is probably the most common human sign of love and affection.[1] A hug is also exchanged as a sign of support and comfort. A hug is the exchange of warmth, usually arising out of joy or happiness at meeting someone. It is practiced in almost all nations, countries, religions and sects. Children hug their parents at bedtime. Many people hug on holidays, such as Mother's Day, or Christmas.
Its roots can be traced to many thousands of years ago. Brief in most cases, it be pursued to show many levels of affection. It is not peculiar to human beings alone as there are many species of animals, which engage in a similar exchange of warmth.[End Quote]

I've seen the videos about the Hug Campaign and that always made me smile and get that fuzzy feeling to see people just walk up to a total stranger and just hug it out!LOL! How cool is that?! [I think a fellow blogger showed it recently on their blog too!]
This guy, Richard Aday [richard.aday+freehugs@gmail.com], is continuing where Juan Mann, the guy who started the Hug-a-thon (my word), has left off by creating this website: Link
