July 4th Special!

I saw this quiz on msnbc.com and thought it was interesting to see how much I do actually remember! I mixed up the Years for the dates in two of the questions so I got two questions wrong!

You answered 90% of questions correctly. Here's your rating:
85-100%: Welcome to the United States! (And, truth be told, you know more about this great land than most Americans.)

I got a 90% which is great, although I did receive a 100% at the time of my actual citizenship test many years ago! These were not the questions but they were similar ones. Another year celebrating our Independence and I'm very proud to be a citizen!

See how much you do know, or think you know by taking the quiz linked below! No cheating! : )

I got a 95%. I missed the one about the application for naturalization. That's one I kinda would be expected to not know...lol!

I did a 100 question test a few years back. Amazing how tricky these things are.

actually, life, liberty and pursuit of happiness are from the Declaration, rather than the Constitution. But it's all good.

You got the danged naturaalization paperwork thing...lol! And I would have screwed up on the original 13 had we not just covered that territory with Des. This is where homeschooling benefits. You get to show everyone up in those silly "smarter thaan a fifth grader" things because you're TEACHING it! LOL!

Ditto.  Missed the same one.

I took a Dale Carnegie course about 30 years ago where as an exercise, they taught us how to remember them - in the order they approved the constitution.

Think of a Delicate piece of China Ware.  And stuck in the middle of that Delicate piece of China ware is a Ball Point Pen, etc......

I messed up on the number of Amendments and the Application form.  Oops. ;~D

You answered 100% of questions correctly. Here's your rating:

0-20%: Maybe you're still thinking too much about the Old Country.

25-40%: Mmmm. Do you really want to be a citizen? This kind of performance isn't going to impress those nice immigration folks.

45-60%: Not too bad, but you really need to break out the civics books again -- word is, the INS is looking for an 80 percent score.

65-80%: Hey, you may make a good citizen yet! Look at your wrong answers and a little revision should do the trick.

85-100%: Welcome to the United States! (And, truth be told, you know more about this great land than most Americans.)

I rocked it with 100%. Ha ha ha.

I got a 90% too,

Missed the same one.

! I guess unless you have had to use that form, you have no clue!

they taught us how to remember them - in the order they approved the constitution.

Interesting and easy way to learn!

I messed up on the number of Amendments and the Application form. Oops.

90% still high! You would pass the Citizenship test!

I rocked it with 100%. Ha ha ha.

In regards to the 13 states question, it's not actually on the new exams, you only have to name three of the thirteen.

Yea, I had to do that when I answered my questions and I had an oral exam not written. They brought me into a room, ask questions about me personally and then started throwing questions at me in a conversation-like way. Like who was the president , the mayor of my city, the governor, and other questions about my loyalty to the country and what I would do and then the preriquisite questions about the different states! Here I was expecting to write something and they did an oral, the bums!lol! THen they gave me a date and time and said show up at this place with my green card and my passport, at the time from my birthcountry.

Oh Whip, I forgot to say one thing on your blog about leaving and goodbye. You mentioned that you have to prove that your marriage wasnt phony and all. We had to do that, my hubby and I and we had to bring pictures and all sorts of stuff to prove our ligitness! So, it happens to everyone.

Okay, I got 40% but I'm not trying to become a citizen. To be quite honest, I am surprised I even got 40%. I must know more than I think I do

Christ, I suck.

You answered 80% of questions correctly.

Ouch.

I knew better...

Does Australia have a similar test? If so, I dare say that most of our scores would be much worse!
on Jul 05, 2007
Add nervousness, major EXPENSE, and crazy desire to that, and it makes for a stress-filled 30 minutes.

Yea, the nervousness factor is highly stressful which makes everything seem even more difficult. I had the impression it was written before I took mine. So it was a surprise it was oral when I did it.

If we aren't called in for such a hearing by March of next year, He can apply for citizenship.

Good luck with everything!

Okay, I got 40% but I'm not trying to become a citizen. To be quite honest

That means you know a lot of our history!

Christ, I suck.You answered 80% of questions correctly.Ouch.

80% is still good! You would still pass!

The real question is--do you swallow?

LoL!

I'm thinking that all countries have something of this type for people who want to become citizens there? I dunno!

Australia does have something similar, but I've never had to do it. Heck, I'm scared that if I did, I might fail and have to go off somewhere and form a nation of my own. Hmmm, Masoland does have a nice ring to it, though.
