Get the Statue of Liberty on the list!
Published on July 6, 2007 By foreverserenity In Misc
Did you know that TONIGHT, Friday, July 6th, 2007, at 8pm is the deadline to get your vote in for your choice of a monument or whatever you think is a wonderous thing, too marvelous not to be on the list, to be counted as part of the 8 (eight) New Wonders of the World?

People are voting from all over the globe on their favourite choices. We have to get something from the Americas on the list is what I hope will happen! So far there are monuments and locations from other parts of the world on the top 10 list. The Statue of Liberty is on the bottom 10 right now, boo hoo!

The Top 10 list looks like this right now: "the Acropolis in Greece, Chichen Itza pyramid in Mexico, Eiffel Tower in Paris, Easter Island, Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Taj Mahal in India and Jordan's ancient city of Petra."

The ancient city of Petra located in Jordan jumped to the top of the list because the King and Queen of Jordan ignited their people to text message and voted on adding their ancient city to the list, that's thousands of text messages! Imagine what would happen if we all did that for our Lady of Liberty!

There will be Eight Wonders of the World because the Pyramids will remain on the list. Apparently the Egyptians protested the fact that they even had to vote to add the Pyramids back on the list!

I had no idea there was a vote going on first of all! Did you? If so why didn't you clue us in on this great event?! If you were as clueless as I was, well here is your chance to get your vote on!

Go to this website, Link, you can read the article to get more details and at the bottom is a link for you to review and vote!

I'm having a hard time with the link but hopefully you guys, if interested, will be able to vote!

My SIL actually sent me a link for this a few days back. I am embarrassed to admit that I didn't participate.

It is neat, though!

Ah well...didn't get to vote. I'm glad the Pyramids were left untouched, though. Many Egyptian ppl were outraged when they found out about this voting thing.

Me neither! Boo hoo! I kept trying but I'm not sure what went wrong! Aw well. They announce the winners tomorrow, make that today! I'll see if I can search it out and list them.
