No spoilers, go see the movie!

I took my two younger children to see Transformers and we all really enjoyed it very much! I was expecting a mundane, weird looking robots and an ho-hum storyline but got the surprise of my life as I was virtually at the edge of my seat the entire movie rooting for the Autobots (the good guys) to win!

I won't say how the movie ended (of course you know the good guys won!) but I enjoyed each and every action packed scene! Basically the bad guys, the Decepticons, and its leader, Megatron, wanted to take over the Earth and kill the human inhabitants. The Autobots, with its' leader Optimus Prime was having none of that! They were all in search of an object lost on earth decades ago!

Shia LeBeouf played one of the main 'human' characters and was as goofy as he was enjoyable in the role! He really suited the character he played to a tee!

Michael Bay, the director, did a great job with the movie! What I really enjoyed were the life-like robot figures that almost seemed to be real. The voice of Optimus Prime was still the same as the television series, Peter Cullen.

I like the fact that the movie thoroughly entertained and was pretty easy to follow. I know some movie geeks and others will find fault with the movie but it did what the director set out to do, entertain and the plot wasn't as awful as some would expect it to be.

Total cost of the movie for us was $54, including snacks! Not bad for three people! The movie is PG 13 because of some of the scenes between Shia's character and that of his love interest Michela Banes played by Megan Fox. There were no nudity thank heavens, but there were hints of a not blatantly so sexual nature.

I've linked a photo of Bumblebee, my son's favourite Autobot!

I agree with you, the movie was way better than I'd expected. The only thing I didn't really like was the shape of the transformers - they were anorexically skinny. I was hoping for the more chunky old-school robots. But that wasn't a big gripe, it was still an awesome movie.

How dodgy was that final scene - you know, with Bumblebee and the two of them. It's a bit creepy when you think about it, especially with all the others watching...

Haha, I know, unexpected too!

I agree with you. My son have some original ones, and I like those much better than the toys they have in the stores now.

We took our boys to see it today and we all loved it. I was surprised how funny it was. I almost spit out my coke when the mom asked the kid if he had been masturbating. How horrifying would that be especially when there was a girl hiding in his room. I think we'll definately have to get this one on DVD when it comes out. It was pretty creepy how well they camoflaged and how indestructable they seemed.

It also brings home the point of how dependant on technology we've become. I can't imagine what it would be like to have all phone lines, computer lines, everything down and be completely out of touch.

FS, your movies are so much more expensive than ours. We did go to the matinee but it was only $25 for four of us. My favorite thing to do is to go to the drive-in where if we can stay up late enough we can watch two movies, pay $13 for a carload and can bring in a cooler with snacks. It's more of an event but there are bugs, heat, not the greatest sound so it's all a trade off.

YOU can't? Can you imagine how bad MY job would be if everyone's Internet went down in our service area? I'd need to go into hiding...lol!

It was a charming movie. I enjoyed it. I'll definitely put it on my purchase list when it comes out on DVD.

That entire conversation had me squealing and a little embarrassed for my 12 year old!lol! I can see myself having that conversation in pretty much the same way!lol!

I love a bargain too. Unfortunately, our movie theatre is a bit more pricey, nice but pricey!

Me too! I've had conversations with strangers at Walmart about this movie!! They all love it and plan on getting the DVD too!

you have no idea how much I am looking forward to this movie. Transformers were my life when I was a youngster... my brother was equally an avid fan.. so much so that he is 23 now, and still collects the old skool transformers wherever he can find them - ebay is great for that...

anywho, I need to wait for the 27th of July here in the UK... hopefully I can wait that long!

Best movie of the year in my opinion. I was surprised to see how good the movie was considering how bad many other cartoon to movie and video game to movies have been. I think Harry Potter will find it hard to top this baby.

Hang in there it will be worth the wait! Let me know if you liked it or not! But you're going to be seriously impressed!

Yep, that's the part that surprised everyone who has seen it thus far!

Hmmmm, interesting!

BTW, I hear tell there's going to be a sequel, even a trio! I just hope they keep it as interesting as this one!
