Movie Reviews
Seressia Glass, one of my favorite authors, listed the Top Ten reasons why you should see the movie Transformers. I agree with her banging list! I gave my own little review two days ago but liked her list so much I'm posting about it again!
10. If you liked the cartoon(s), you’ll love the movie - Absolutely!
09. Even if you didn’t like the cartoon(s), you’ll love the movie - Absolutely!
08. Kick a$$ action sequences - Uh uh - affirmative!
07. Kick a$$ special effects - Uh uh - affirmative!
06. Watching John Tutturro channel Al Pacino - He really was hilarious without meaning to be!
05. The weird little boombox Deceptacon was actually pretty funny - Weird but funny!
04. Shia Lebouf: He’s no longer shy and is geekily buff - He has grown up!
03. Bumblee: he ain’t no VW Beetle this time around, but a Camaro who speaks through music (at first and with hilarious effects)
- You can't help but love Bumblebee!
Numbers two and one are pairs and almost equal in my mind, but then I’m a geek who happens to be a girl. TIE:
02. Optimus Prime and Megatron in Rock ‘Em, Sock ‘EM robotic smack down - Rock em, sock em, all rotty-macho!
01. Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson - Hot Tamales! Whoo hooo!

That's a pretty good top ten.
But I've got to tell you, I followed the Transformers series as a kid and when I saw the original animated feature - I cried.
Like, um, well, like a little kid - when Optimus Prime died.
I have to give the director (Micheal Bay) some credit - the movie didn't suck, but like armeggedon and Pearl Harbour (also his), I didn't feel connected to most of the characters. They were mostly flat cardboard pinups against flashy CG.
John Torturro (nobody fucks with the Jesus) and Jon Voight were awesome and unexpected pleasures added to the film, but they were grossly underutilied (sp).
Ditto for Prime, though having that voice was another unexpected and wonderful boon to the flick.
all in all, I have to say that I'm glad I saw the film, but not glad enough, and I wouldn't bother watching it again.

I remember that! That was a sad time!

My son and I did!

I know what you mean. I look at it like this though, he has to sell it (Transformers) to those who have never seen it and give it a modern twist I guess.
John Torturro (nobody fucks with the Jesus) and Jon Voight were awesome and unexpected pleasures added to the film, but they were grossly underutilied (sp).
Haha, they were both pretty unexpected with how their characters played out I agree. It was pretty cool to see the "Secretary of Defense" actually defending!
Ditto for Prime, though having that voice was another unexpected and wonderful boon to the flick.
Yep! My son thought that was the most awsome part about it, Peter Cullen was still around!
all in all, I have to say that I'm glad I saw the film, but not glad enough, and I wouldn't bother watching it again.
Aw come on, we're planning to get the DVD and I would go see it again!
! Glad you enjoyed it though!

Nice response.
Did anyone ever tell you you're one heck of a basket of good cheer today?
I've got positive energy residue leaking from the sides of my monitor now.
..better get a washcloth, I don't want that seeping into my hard drive...
