Life as I Know It; Family; Lifestyle; and Healthy Living!
that's my new mantra!

I've been working out on a regular basis and have not been doing too badly in getting my body toned and dropping a few pounds here or there. I've also had my moments yo-yo-ing within the last two months. It happens though, there are just those moments when you just don't feel like working out, when you want to have that slice of cake or you just want to sit like a log and do nothing!

Those are the times when my brain is kind of messed up with worrying about the many minute details in my life and I cannot summon the energy to even lift a dumbbell!

Today was one of those days. I've recently decided to start up at my work gym again because it will help me to keep heading towards that goal I've set for myself. It's been as hot as an oven here lately and I don't start out with my usual walk to the gym, instead I drive there, workout and drive back. That's my way of beating Mr. Sun! So I dragged myself there and was almost at the door of the gym when I realised that I was still wearing my flip flops! Shucks...I could have turned back but that meant losing precious time so i went inside in the hope that no one will notice me and tell me I can't work out today.

I cleared checking in and headed for the Elliptical machine where I plan to work out because it will be the safest machine to use to do my cardio with flip flops on. Let me tell you, while I was fine with my flip flops, it was darn hard to get my gung ho energy going. I could barely go past 141! For me to have a really good workout, no matter the time limits, my heart rate as to be up to at least 150! When I'm having a good workout with maximum energy I"m doing 160. If I'm really gung ho I push up to 170 but I don't do that too much less I hurt myself!

So there I was blowing hard and working out because I just couldn't find my workout energy. I worked out on that machine for 15 mins and managed to get my heart rate up to 150 for a bit, so it wasn't a total waste! I continued at it because I figured it's better to work out than not to do anything at all. I then moved to the weights machine and did another 10 mins.

All in all I was glad I did do some physical activity because that's the only way I am going to get lean and svelte!

A coworker and I were talking about his workout plan because he dropped a lot of weight in the last six months from working out and eating more healthy. He said he was having a hard time sticking with it and he just don't want to mess up again. He's one of those people who have been on and off with his weight. I said to him that I've realised one thing that I keep telling myself in order not to quit. "I don't want to be fat anymore". It is as simple as that! Just keep telling that to yourself and you will not give up! As for me, I've done giving birth and it's time for me to get rid of the excess I've held on to since my last child, who will be six this year.

While I've never been model thin, I've always had a really good body, firm and curvy, and while age might be doing it's number on me, my genes are pretty good (thank you mom!) and I know I can get back to being as physically healthy as I was before children! OK, maybe not as good as that, but by george I'm aiming for it! I also want to be healthy for the very reasons that as you get older, if you're fat you will risk having more problems with your health. While I do not deny myself anything, I have cut down on my fat intake and I do workout at least six times a week. On a bad week I'll do four days, but that's still better than nothing!

The important thing for me to remember is that I have to keep doing something, anything, if I want to get into those jeans I'm still holding on to!"

Hey there,

Weight loss is such a problem! Goodness. I understand, though, that we really need to get in the 70-80% range and stay there for at least 40 minutes several times a week.

See ya!

Yes, I try to do that each time. Yesterday was a bit trying I guess because I wasn't really in the mood!

I usually work out in the morning for 15-20 mins and then do it again at work, that way I put in at least 40 or 45 mins for the day. Yesterday evening I spent an hour swimming around and playing in the swimming pool, so I got a good workout yesterday anyway!

How's it going? I just started working on starting an exercise routine. I'm achy but feeling accomplishment. I haven't managed the 4 times a week on a consistent basis yet. I'm doing what I can when I can though.

Best wishes.

I'm just reviewing my posts and catching up on comments!

Aw Jill, have not exericed since last Monday. I've been soooo busy with work and home and it's just crazy!

It's hard getting to do it five to six times a week. My new plan is to just do it wheneer I can. I'm going to get back on a regular schedule though. Between homework, and picking up the kids and all...impossible!

I hope your's is going well! If you find a way to get some in, let me know!

I'm not fat any more.

But then I'm not fat any less either.

Good luck.
