Cinderella's busy this year!

I tell ya, my poor six year old daughter has been popping in and out of her costume like a pro! I mentioned that she was Cinderella this year, for two reasons really. Her school is having a character day instead of Halloween (I just hope they don't cancel Christmas or else they will be hearing from me!) and she enjoys the Disney Princesses (that new money-making trend for Disney) and wanted to be Cinderella this year! (last year she was Sleeping Beauty)

On Friday we went to an event where the Volley ball athletes and cheerleaders along with their mascot put on a fun time for children. She wore her costume, the first opportunity to do so since I bought it! We spent the evening eating pizza and watching our newly acquired DVD of Transformers! It was cool remembering it all over again since watching it at the movies!

On Saturday, we spent the time with her big sister. It was going to be a girls day out with just the three of us, but their brother wanted to come too and since he's been couped up at home since breaking his arm, I was very happy to include him! We were all tuckered out by the end of the evening. I dropped my daughter to her home (I'm still trying to get used to that!) and headed home where I reheated overnight pizza in the oven and made grilled hot dogs (in the oven). Their dad came home from his tournament, not too happy because he almost had a win but someone sneaked in and beat him! We were gonna go with him but since I had made plans with our oldest beforehand, I spent the day with the kids.

Today we went to another costume Trick or Treat event and she donned her costume again. We spent an hour having fun going from one activity to the other. Her brother came again, I talked him into it and he was very happy he did come with us. I ended up being the 'bag lady' for both of them! I was laden with two buckets filled with every candy you can think of, a bag of what I liked, finger print stuff and other details for an at home kit from the Sheriff department, and even a bag with a newly acquired (she won him) little fish my daughter named Mojo!

She changed in the car (thank heavens I had remembered to bring a change of clothes) and then we went to the Carnival/Fair that was in town for the weekend! Who said you can't have fun without spending too much money?! They each had one ride, won stuffed animals at a game, then we walked around enjoying the sounds and sights of people having fun, and then left. The sun had really done a number on us, we were all happy to call it a day!

The good thing is that my car is back on the road, so my hubby was able to go off with his friends and I was able to do my own thing!

On Tuesday evening, she will be wearing her costume again. Yes, we were invited to another Halloween party! Then on Wednesday morning, Halloween, she will wear her costume and take her book to school, then it's Halloween party at her after school, and we will go Trick or Treatin' in the neighborhood that evening!

Cinderella is having a busy year indeed!

I say wear that costume until it is in tatters and if you can get mileage out of it next year, all the better.

For adults, I like seeing the same costume again as long as it is a good one and not something stupid like women dressing slutty just because it's Hallowe'en or guys wearing their favorite football T-shirt.
