Or am I wasting my money?!
I have a question for you JUsers. An acquaintance of mine (I haven't known her very long) does this as a business. She told me about it, I decided to sign up with her to have it as a insurance, which is what it is if you think about it! I have heard about the prepaid legal service before, where you can call an 800 number and have the service of a lawyer on any issue. I also thought it would be useful to have.
My hubby doesn't think it's a good idea. To him it's money coming from our account and what do we get out of it. I say to him we get peace of mind in knowing that if ever anything comes up or we need help from a lawyer or have to do anything "legalese" we have them to help us!
The charge is $35.99 per month and it's going to be for as long as we want to use the service. I said to him it's the same as having hospital insurance, or any other supplemental insurance, or am I wrong? Basically, I know that it's money that's going to be paid out on a long-term basis and a service that we might never use.
Did I make a mistake doing this I wonder? I can always cancel, after all I just did it tonight! But I was also thinking it might be a good side thing to do business-wise if I choose to! And I have looked into it of how monotonous it is and it's practically a pyramid scheme to me it seems. But I don't have to be a part of the business, just use the service.
What's your opinion on this and have any of you ever used this service?
