It's still out there!

Some time ago, I wrote an article about food that has been genetically altered (GA), the fact that I don't like it one bit! Link Well, nothing much has changed, in that, it's still being done to our foods and it's more prevalent than ever!

This week on Good Morning America, it was the topic of discussion again. I am still alarmed about it, especially because foods that have been or will be genetically altered, are not labeled as such! In fact, the FDA has approved them to be on our grocery shelves and they will be altered! I bet you Vegas and Vegetarians are grinning and mocking us carnivores right about now uh?! "See, that's the reason why we don't eat meat", I can just hear the Vegan chant!

The reports are that some of us may already be consuming GA foods from the cloned off spring of some animals right now, anything that contains soybeans or corn, has some GA modifications! I love corn, frozen or fresh, makes me shudder to think it is altered!

We are the only country that are currently consuming GA foods, most of them we eat unknowingly! European countries and others are playing it a bit more cautious. They are still debating whether it is safe to consume these foods.

Our government agencies have deemed GA foods as safe for us to eat! Sounds to me like we've been thrown out with the bath water!

These foods are not labeled and they will not be required to be labeled as containing GA products of any type! I think that we should be given the choice of choosing to eat these types of foods and not have our choice taken away from us!

For now, it is said that any food that is labeled as organic is not altered, so those would be our safe bets to eat if we do not want to consume any GA products! What about our health, will that have any impact on us at all?

Have all the studies been done, thoroughly? What about side effects? What about side effects that happens to these cloned animals months or years later - won't that affect humans who consume them? There's too much to be answered that leaves our lives hanging. I don't like it one bit! I will continue to keep an eye on this and see what happens next.
