Are we going to hell in a hand basket?

I've been thinking about this for a couple of days now. Simply because I've heard several people comment on what's going on in our world right now. War, terrorism, hunger, the weather. Is it a sign of the times? Most of what is going on in today's world have been talked about before, some people may say Nostradamus, others will say the Bible. I say a bit of both. Although I think more like the bible prophecies are coming through.

Then my husband asked me a couple of days ago if I know about Mount Helen? (I probably spelt the name wrong) When I asked him why, he said one of his friends told him that it will be erupting soon. I told him I would research on the net to see if that's true or even to see where it's located. I couldn't for the life of me remember if it was somewhere here or elsewhere?

But when you think about the kind of weather we have been having lately, the hurricanes that have hit recently or the near misses for some places, makes you wonder why? Doesn't it?

I think people always think that what's going on during their time is a signal of the end. I'm Christian, so I believe in the return of Christ . . . and the Bible says that even He doesn't know when he will come again, so I am not concerned that the weird weather is a sign. I can understand why others might, though.

We are indeed in the very last days of this earth. Everything has prophetic meanings and are waymarks to the most incredible event in all the universe. The second return of Jesus to this world. No, no one knows the exact day and hour of His coming, BUT, he gave us prophecy to give us signs to His coming. Most of your signs of the endtime are contained in Matthew, Daniel and Revelation.

I am so glad your noticing the signs. Without going into lengthy details, know that there will be scoffers that will rationalize everything, trying to find a "scientific" explaination. But remember man's thinking is perverted and is foolishness. And remember, man can do nothing without the guidance of God. This is the biggest problem today. Humanism. Man thinks he can do it all and needs no one else.

To answer your question, yes, we are seeing extremes of weather, earthquakes and terrorism increasing. Also note, rumors of wars. Every nation is rushing for the nuclear trigger.

Prophecy says we will enter terrible times of economic collapse, crime and immorality (look at the media today) just before the return of Jesus.

Finally, remember, if you die in an unsaved state, there is nothing you can do to gain salvation. Also remember, we are much, much closer to the second coming that what most think. There is great evidence, many living today will see the second coming. We are that close.

Good Luck!

foreverserenity: Don't let that stuff freak you out . . . there are many interpretations of the book of Revelation . . . don't let someone else dictate to you its meaning . . .

Wow Texas, thanks for the info. I'll keep my eyes and ears out for more on the Mount. I too share your beliefs - kindred sprit.

Gray, interesting observations.

You are both right, no one knows when his return will be. I'm guessing we'll know when the time is right. As for dyiing in an unsaved state, Jesus knows who his children are. There's no amount of "saving" that's going to save you if your life is not what it is supposed to be.
