An interesting bit of news.  The Pope does his own laundry!  I find that hard to believe really....maybe I misinterpreted what I read?  Tell me what you think from this sentence:

The pope then started a load of white vestments, including the shroud, only realizing what had happened when he returned to remove the sacred artifact, which is always line-dried.

"His Holiness was distracted with trying to scrub a tough Blood of Christ stain out of Cardinal Nicora's miter," Lajolo said.

So he did do the laundry!  That is COOL!

Apparently they take turns doing the laundry at the Vatican!  Unfortunately for Pope Benedict, he didn't see the red t-shirt hidden amongst the whites and it changed the beautiful color of the Shroud of Turin pink!

Did you know that they actually do bless the laundry detergent and the water before they put the wash cycle on?  Wow!

Maybe I can get them to bless my laundry the next time it's my turn to do it!

Although the Shroud was colored pink, what it represents is still intact!

"It is still very much the icon of the suffering of the innocent of all times."

A JU cross post?

Publishing from Live Writer always ends up in the Computing category for some reason.  it takes a few minutes for me to tweak it and get it to the right slot! Sorry about that!

You need to select a category from the list at the bottom of the LiveWriter screen.  At the moment, if nothing is selected, it defaults to Personal Computing.  We're looking into that.

You do know The Onion isn't a real news site, right? Nothing on it is true.

It's funny, to be sure, but I'm surprised how often people take it for being true. We had a radio station here going off for months on Bush over something that I tracked back to an Onion story. All those outraged people, because the station owners couldn't do a little research....

As far as I know, the Shroud of Turin is too fragile to be washed. It would disintegrate.

Besides that the 'Shroud of Turin' is a fake. Made in the 12th Century, experts think.
