Life as I Know It; Family; Lifestyle; and Healthy Living!

There's a new show on Fox that I've been watching and it has been pretty interesting so far.  I saw the trailers for their new series New Amsterdam and was sceptical at first but decided I would give it a chance, being the avid television watcher that I am!

I actually missed the first episode, but caught the second one that same week!

The premise of the series is this: "Debut: He has been immortal since he saved an Indian girl in 17th-century New Amsterdam, but it's a curse to present-day NYPD detective John Amsterdam (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) since it comes with a condition: He can't die, but he can't love..." (from the tvguide website I linked above)

So he's an immortal, this John Amsterdam guy and he's been around for 300 years and he's not a vampire?!  Wow!  Something kin of like Angel, the series I was addicted to, (along with Buffy), I seriously hope it will be interesting I thought to myself!  So I watched the pilot episode and it was!  More interesting was the fact that he had a son (Omar) who was 65 years old!  The man himself is pretty young (and pretty!LOL!) so that was kind of weird!  He plays the role with enough conviction to make it believable!

He meets his 'true love" but on this past episode he found out that...wait for it......she' s married!  What a shocker!  Now I want to see what they do next from there!  Hopefully no cheating will go on, that would be just too predictable and in bad taste!  I also want to see what became of Omar's mom Lily and I wonder if he has any other children with anyone else?!

If you would like to check it out follow the link and watch the episodes they already shown.

I didn't bother with New Amsterdam since, even sans vampirism, it sounded like a rip-off of Moonlight (which sounded like a rip-off of Angel, but I gave it a chance anyway), right down to the love of his life bit and wanting to be mortal. Blah. Have you watched Moonlight? It turned out to be far better than I expected. I was wondering how the two compared.

Yes, and I like it!  I haven't seen any new episodes of it lately though, since the Writers strike?

According to Zap2it, Moonlight will return April 11th with 4 new episodes. Hopefully CBS will renew it, or idiots from all over the country will start sending them plasma bags.

Sigh...Fox...I got burned a few times by becoming a fan of Ryan Caulfield Year One and again with John Doe. If youve never heard of those shows, its probably because I was the only one who watched them. Anyways...I know wait until a show is at least 3 years in before I devote anytime to it. Maybe I will watch it if it makes through 2009.

Oh yes, John Doe I knew, as you know it got canceled!

I hear ya. They say New Amsterdam will be back, but who knows! Sick of those producers and the ratings war!

They say New Amsterdam will be back

So it did get renewed?  Did Fox announced it's fall line-up yet?
