Oh no!!!!!!!!!

At least in Florida, Elementary, Middle and High Schools are all out for the Summer!  Not just that, but my six year old's after school is out too!  What's  a parent to do?  I'm just not ready, it snuck up on me again!

So, I've already visited somewhere my daughter will be spending her days during the summer, her old haunt, the daycare!  She tells me that she is not a baby!  She doesn't want to go. I tell her, she is not a baby and she will be in the big kids section now, and it's Summer Day Camp not daycare!

I'm taking her there to revisit, because they have made changes to ithe place and she can see for herself that it will be a Summer Day Camp with the big kids, not the babies and they have a calendar of fun activities for the entire summer!  I just hope she will like it and not be a stubborn child about it!

As for my son, he's not liking the idea of going to Summer Day Camp either.  He wants to stay home with his computer and DS Lite!  If that happens, the entire neighborhood will be hanging out at my place and that's not going to happen!  We've had several discussion to this effect. So far, I'm not sure what will happen because I don't know if the older camp have any space!

Summer Day Camp is not cheap either!  Good grief, the cost is astromnomical but in the long run will be worth it for my peace of mind and their own safety!

I do plan on going on day trips with them when I can on our own as a family to some of the attractions around here and am looking forward to that!

My daughter (number 2) had a successful Kindergarten year, she made the Honor Roll and my son is done with Eighth grade and will move on to high school! At least, he should, there's the incident of a missing Science book that I might have to pay for and his grades are being held hostage!  Don't ask, long story and one I'm too annoyed about to go into!  We're talking payig nientey bucks for this missing book!  I'm disgusted about the whole thing!

Anyway, school is out for Summer and they are beside themselves with happiness!

No need to go so far DrGuy. My son still has till tomorrow here in West Palm Beach FL and his cousin still has till the 9th in Miami. So Forever, tell where you at so I can steer clear. LOL.

Actually, my son will be going to the Boys and Girls club and while I would prefer he not go there (boring and not as educational in sports as I thought or they claim) I don't have much of a choice since I can't afford a good summer camp for him and I have no family to leave him with.

I'm in Orlando and school gets out earlier here, at least this year it is later.  Last year they were out at the end of May!  Also, the school system is changing the times Elementary and Middle and High schools get to school when they get back next season, it's going to be a nightmare!
