My husband called me into the bedroom, his favorite place to watch the television from telling me to come quick .....I didn't hear him clearly and entered the bedroom to hear the news of Tim Russert's death.

To say I was shocked was putting it mildly.  I didn't know the man, but I knew him, know what I mean?!  I felt that I knew him becuase I've watched him for so long, listened to him for so many years, enjoyed his humor, his opinions, his fairness.  I felt he treated everyone who he came across, that I've seen on a television on his self-named show or on "Meet the Press" or any other programs, with such class and style.  Now there was a newsman, much like Peter Jennings whom I loved to watch! 

I read a tribute to him written by Gwen Ifill on theroot.com, one of his cohorts and friend and loved what she said and thought it would be nice to share. 

Goodbye Tim Russert, rest in peace.
