And they lost!
Three residents of the Greek Aegean island of Lesbos doesn't like it that homosexual women are referred to as Lesbos or Lesbians! They feel that if someone were not born on their island, they are not a Lesbo or Lesbian and so the residents took this matter to the Greek Courts, to have the courts declare them right and give them justice in having those two words banned unless it was in referrence to a native Lesbo or Lesbian....their Courts didn't bite, the case was thrown out!
Did you know how the island got its' name? Their ancient Greek poetess Sappho's love poems was the inspiration for the word Lesbian.
The Courts decided that the island and it's people were not in any way defined by the word, and it could continue to be used by lesbians in Greece and anywhere else for that matter!
