Ooops!

A little kid can't even depend on the Tooth Fairy anymore!  My daughter lost one of her molars, one in the back, finally after weeks of her worrying about it because it was shaking, the tooth is out.

She had kept worrying it with her tongue and I was afraid she was going to bite into something and maybe swallow the thing!   Her dad wanted to just pull it out but I told him no way because all of the root have to come out!

She went to a birthday party and came back home with the bothersome tooth in her hand!  We celebrated!  She washed it off then ran to put it under her pillow.  Cue my signal to myself to remember the Tooth Fairy, mental note!

Uh, uh...yeah, sure!  I'm in the kitchen the next morning, washing up, breakfast and all that.  She walks in looking rather sad.  I asked her what is wrong.  "The Tooth Fairy forgot to visit me mommy".  Oh no!  I looked at her dad, I said,  "Well, maybe she was just so busy, she didn't get to you yet!"  She cheered up and said, "Yeah....maybe there was a lot of traffic!"  I nodded in agreement feeling bad.  I suck at being a Tooth Fairy cause I never remember!lol!

So that night after I put her to bed, I crept back into her room, felt for the tooth (her head was on the pillow) grabbed it, placed a dollar bill in its place and crept out again!

She woke up really happy, and jumping, "I have a dollar from the Tooth Fairy!"

Whew....

LOL! We have done that before!!

It's always a tricky moment, trying to get the tooth and switch it out for the money without waking the child.

Whew! Thanks for saying that! I'm always so bad at this!lol!   Yes, trying not to wake her, but since she wasn't feeling well, she was knocked out!

Oh boy, I've let the story out!lol~

I am horrible at being the tooth fairy too.  I forget.  I can never find the tooth.  My kids always like that because then they think they can use the tooth again.  Who thought this whole idea up anyway?

Hmmm...here's a thought: what if there was a "cherry fairy" for when ya lost your virginity? Wonder what that would be worth? And...what would you put under your pillow to get it?

I always kept an Ike dollar around for that. The same one was used for 4 sets of teeth! They were told they could keep it, or spend it, but if they spent it, I would give them a regular paper one (as they knew I collected coins, and I wanted those Ike Dollars). I never had one object (I had several Ike Dollars just in case).

And so far, none have asked to see my large collection of Ike Dollars.

I have a special little pouch that my daughter puts her teeth in when they fall out.  It's a lot easier to find!  The only problem is if she falls asleep holding it.

I was so afraid this was going to happen on vacation. Both of my boys had loose teeth and their tooth fairy always pays in gold dollar coins. Guess what I didn't have at our cottage! Luckily, noone lost their tooth until we were back home.

My guys have a "tooth buddy". We got them at a craft show. They are tooth shaped stuffed pals that have a pocket on the front to put the tooth in.

Yea, kind of hard to carry around an Ike dollar too!

Fortunately, it was never needed while on vacation.

We have forgot before too. When one of them would come in looking sad we would go get the money and put it behind the bed or under it and proclaim it found! It must have gotten pushed off the bed. Whew...close calls.

I like the idea of a tooth buddy or sack. Although I might still forget or wake the boy.

With inflation, we gave Hunter $5 for his first tooth.  (What?  We were first time parents and its was our first born's first tooth!)  After that he literally started pulling his own loose teeth figuring it was a great way to make money...hahah.

We told him the tooth fairy was on a budget and he only got $1 after about the first four.

Gavin will only get $1, and I won't forget because he won't LET ME!!

My kids wouldn't hold up to this one, they have such mercenary tendencies!LOL!

LOL!  With the cost of inflation, it remains at a buck for me too!
