Every now and again my oldest calls me giving me her symptoms and asking questions. Sometimes I can answer, sometimes I tell her to call her doctor, just to be on the safe side. She's off from work now, awaiting the birth of her baby.
My baby is having a baby. I'm still in shock because I never thought this would be. I was disappointed at first, because I wanted her to experience so much more before kids and living with a man. (young girls out there, what is your hurry?!) But I've accepted that this is where her life leads, what it is now. I can honestly say that I'm happy now, because I've accepted this fact. I firmly believe that life is what you make it, and I also believe that the good Lord doesn't give us more than we can handle. I'm also happy that we are here for her, and she knows this. I'm also happy that she continued to take her college classes on line despite working and the discomfort she has been in. She recently told me she's taking a certification class to work in a day care, again online. She plans on being a teacher and I think this is a good lead in to being a student teacher aide, when the time comes during her studies.
I've been a doting grandma-to-be, shopping up a storm. We had the baby shower. Her friend was supposed to host it but when that fell through, I had it for her. I must say it was fun and she had a great time! I will post pictures of it probably afterwards because I'm not sure I can get it ready for this article.
I'm on the hunt for a bassinet now. I was going to purchase a crib but she wanted a bassinet because it seems more secure to her than a big crib. I agree with her, because I had bassinet for them before they were in a crib. I'm going to go shopping for one tomorrow.
Her doctor does plan on inducing her if she doesn't have the baby within the next two weeks. Her official date is February 4, but the way things have been going, it seems this baby has been ready from inception! She has had to go to the hospital several times.
I'm glad it's almost time for a brand new birth day! I look forward to meeting him!
