Happy Earth Day folks! We celebrate this wonderful earth and learn new ways to keep her environmentally safe and around for many generations to come. I've always enjoyed the fact that Earth day and my birthday are on the same day!
Happy Birthday to me! Today I celebrate my 40th year on this beautiful earth. I’m happy to be around, healthy and kicking! No ailments, no diseases, just living my life and loving my family.
I never imagined that my parents would not be around to see me turn 40. It made me cry last night. Yep, I broke down. I was looking at photographs, brought back lots and lots of wonderful memories. My dad and mom whose pictures are also in my on-line photo album that I posted recently. They were two of the most influential people in my life. They were together for more than 40 years, a long time. I’ll always love them and I’ll always remember them.
My sister also recently celebrated her birthday; she’s two years younger than me also born in April.
I don’t feel old at all. I feel very much comfortable in my skin. I guess I’ve always felt that way without realizing it. I have my moments when I’m dissatisfied with my looks. I should say with the weight I’ve kept on since giving birth to my last child. But now I’m doing something about it and I’m a work in progress.
I don’t have anything fantastic plan for today. There’s a luncheon at work, which will turn into a celebration of my birthday somehow. I’ve also already received a wonderful gift in the mail from my best friend in the UK, which is so sweet.
After work my husband, the kids and I will purchase a cake, some ice cream and celebrate at home. That’s a tradition with us; we enjoy shopping for the cake together. We’ll dance and sing and just enjoy the evening together. Plus he promises some very sinfully delicious things for us to do later! What more can I ask for? Nothing at all. I’m content because I’m loved.
