Do you get offended when I do this?

I just realized something that I do quite often without realizing it. I like to "break" people's names down. You know, say the shorter version or in essence create an acronym at times.

I do this and never thought of asking, "Hey, do you mind if I call you...?" You know because some people really are quite "touchy" about their names. Ok, I know it's not their real names but they still might be upset that I somehow alter it.

I just thought about this when I was responding to a new blogger, lemonlime, who was writing his (or her?) first blog about a much discussed topic around here....(music) Booger! Link

So, when I do this to you, let me assure you it's done with much affection and familiarity! It just shows I'm comfortable with you. And as for the personal names, hey, need I say more?

WHy waste the time getting insulted over something so trivial? You can call me NW like littlewhip does or you can call me Barb. Doesn't matter to me. I've been called much worse before.
