In my own opinion

The following was my response to zienobia’s blog, Link:

“Your views are interesting because it enlightens me a little to an innocent's way of thinking. Given that we in the western world don't speak or read the language (at least some do speak the language) and we don't get the reports immediately the way you guys do where you are (and it's always amazing to me how quickly your news medium get their information), we wouldn't know that the wording is wrong or that there are spelling errors or that this is not the way a muslim speaks.

We don't see spelling errors or read wrong usage of your language, we hear and feel and see anguish, death, terror, anger. We wonder why if there are so many innocent muslims out there, why can't you all band together and demand of your government and leaders for them to put an end to those extremists in your country? Why not demand this terror and extremism stopped because it is so bad for you who are innocent and who continue to say "Islam is innocent for those acts ,those are not muslims"?”

I’ve been reading and responding to many blogs regarding the attacks in London today. I realize that sometimes my response may have been pretty heated, but it makes me so mad just to think of another set of innocent lives lost because of these extremists.

It’s bad enough that our soldiers are in Iraq, Afghanistan and anywhere in the world where they have to be to protect our lives and way of being because these people with their extreme views and warped way of thinking believe that this world is there’s alone and anyone who doesn’t agree with them or share their religion is damned! And so they take extreme measures against innocent people to try to prove that they are better than all of us.

It’s bad enough that I’m here thinking about a hurricane and what’s going on in my birth country Jamaica right now, hoping that my family and friends come through this one unscathed, while also wondering if we here in Florida are going to have to take cover too.

I go out for my morning workout and come back to the news of terror attacks and see pictures of body bags being carried by police in London; of a bus turned upside down because of a bomb; of people bloody and in shock……once more reliving the terror I witnessed and felt in New York almost four years ago.

The pictures are still so vivid in my mind.

Fear is an ugly thing, terror is an ugly act. These extremists are doing just that, putting fear and terror into our lives. They want us to see things their way, to live their way and be just like them. And because we don’t they take extreme measures trying to make us cower in fear.

They may take innocent lives; they may make us feel afraid because we don’t know when they’re going to strike; they will travel anywhere they want because they’re still allowed to do so, even with the precautions that are taken by every country; (and I do wish, like other bloggers have suggested, that they would not be allowed to do so anymore – damn human rights, their acts are not humane; and I’m sorry that there are innocents out there in their world but it’s time these innocents stand up together to stamp out these extremists!) but they will never, ever take away our freedom!

We won’t hide; we won’t change our lives because of them. To protect the rights and freedom of my children I would rather die fighting to put an end to them.

Enough is enough!

Hot and bothered Elie! Seriously, I would wipe them out myself if I could and I know that's a strong thing to say and probably wrong but that's just how I feel at the moment. They don't wanna get on my bad side...oops, they already have..."Just make my day" as Clint Eastwood would say!

this is what the world is headed for, when the softer gentler of us get pissed it really is time for the idiots to watch out, blood thirsty fuckers like me and the docs are always ready for war if need be, but when the mainstream of america gets ready LOOK OUT WORLD HERE WE COME.

You're right. Why should innocent people die just because of bunch of bombing assholes? It's like 9/11 all over again. Just in London.

But make no mistake, people, it's no different.

I may not live in London, but it's just as awful a thought as happening in London. I don't live in NYC either but when the Twin Towers went down I was terrified for all of those peoples lives. Not just my own.

All these tree hugging people who are out there, wondering why exactly it is that we're in a war with Iraq, THIS is why!

"[D]amn human rights, their acts are not humane... I'm sorry that there are innocents out there"

I feel this way too. And even though there are innocents -- there are ALWAYS innocents. There will always BE innocents as long as they are afraid to stand up for themselves and for what is right.

Sometimes you have to stand up for what you believe in. Even if that means standing alone.

"I realize that sometimes my response may have been pretty heated, but it makes me so mad just to think of another set of innocent lives lost because of these extremists".

And your feelings are vindicated. You are exactly right in every way. My hat is off to you.

That is the misunderstanding in a nutshell.  They do it to change our lives, and they will never understand why we dont cower to their terrorism.  We may not be able to wipe out every terrorist in the world, but we will make it a very short lived career for those who decide to follow that path.

Terrorists might think they're getting to us, but all they are doing is numbering their days even more. I don't have a problem with people who stand up for what they believe and who try to be the changes they want to see in the world. But taking innocent lives who are going about their business is plain wrong.
